Default Maybe the first-ever "Frankensteined" account back from the dead?

Hi -

Okay, so I just happened to be going through some old accounts and I tried something, and it worked. And I want to post about it here to let you guys know.

I had a fresh account that:
  • Listed it's first Item on 1/13/2014.
  • Got MC999'd on 1/15/2014 informing me that my limits have gone to 0/0.
  • Got hit with "ID Verification Request" on 1/19/2014 and informed that the account was "on hold" until I provided them with the requested info.
  • Was never touched or logged into again.

I received an auto-email MC209 from eB on that account on 1/22/2016 (two years later) saying that if I didn't log into the account soon, they were deleting it in 30 days.

Okay. So for poops and giggles, I log into the account just to see if it's salvageable, or if something has changed.

It's now 10/500.

I haven't tried to list on the account yet, I am in the process of making the attached PP more stable before doing so, but if I do and all goes well, I'll keep you guys updated on my first ever necro'd account.

I had an ebay account crash and burn April 2015. Just received an email that is in now above standard. I logged in and have 500-20,000 limits. Interesting for sure.

This may well turn out to be the left hand of ebay not knowing what the right hand will do.

Careful of dropping the bananas.

Well I have an account that Is suspended requesting photo identification. Guess I should just wait 2 years before trying to log back in. The only question I have is, Since your account was made and crashed early January 2014, somewhere along the line didn't you have to change your accounts password due to the eBay hack that happened about 1-2 years ago. During this time eBay basically forcing everyone to change the password or you couldn't log in. If so, it's possible this could be playing role in these mystery fixes. I would say this doe, this by fair isn't the strangest thing eBay has "accidentally" done...

Happened to me also on an old account from couple years back. It was new and got suspended after 15 or so sales. Received notice 2yrs later that it was back in operation. Very strange... Maybe getting desperate since the PP/eb split?

I had this on a few accounts, problem is it gets your hopes up for nothing .. kinda.

I went on about 5 accounts that I had gotten the email saying I havent logged on in awhile and if I dont they will delete it.

So I went on fixed it up a bit and listed a small item on each. THREE of the 5 accounts told me I had to follow thru with the instructions that was sent to me by ebay about verifying my account. That meant that the original mc900 email to call and verify myself was still in effect on those accounts even though the my selling page showed 10/100 or even more on some.

The other two worked out and let me follow thru with my listing. So I would say it is a little less then a 50/50 chance of the accounts being salvageable.
