Posting to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland
 

I have had an Amazon order this morning from the Isle of Arran, never had an order from up there in the wilds of Scotland before. Checked out posting via Amazon's own delivery, they couldn't offer anything!

Next went on parcel2go site, they could do it but only for a price that was more than the cost of the item!

Posted in the Amazon forums about this as well to see how others deal with it, the obvious one is to warn other potential buyers from those areas that they will be charged for the cost of delivering to them.

Went into shipping settings on Amazon to see if I could change my shipping settings to warn any would be buyers who live up there, but no, there was no option in the shipping settings that would go anywhere near this even remotely!, and it is such on obvious issue know that it has happened to me that I would have thought Amazon would have it covered, but they don't!

Update on this the Amazon forum replied that Hermes will ship up to Highlands And Islands for no extra cost. Went onto their site and sure enough they do exactly that, where everyone else was quoting costs at more than the item was worth, including Royal Fail Snail Mail!, Hermes quoted just a few pounds.

One thing I am going to make sure of doing with Hermes is to mega pack the item, as they are of course notorious for rough handling packaging, forewarned is definately forearmed with Hermes.

the channel islands is one headache with myhermes, has to go with RM.
You are not supposed to exclude Channel Islands from amazon either, although alot of people put a disclaimer... so have to cancel sales if you get a heavy/huge order that would cost too much........
