Paypal "locked"? (not limited)

Well this is a new one. Ebay / paypal account, personal. They are about 3 weeks old, and I went to buy something on ebay, actually it was a book (that I wanted, not strategic). When I went to checkout it needed me to login to paypal (although it usually does automatically). When I tried it wouldnt let me log in! I went direct to PP, and tried again a few days later, tried "forgot pw" etc. Says the login is locked and I need to call. Im nervous to call, last time I called PP (for a different issue) they gave me the "we dont see a history of addresses, where was your previous address, etc" and other unanswerable questions. Suggestions? anyone had this before?

Is there any chance the password might be wrong?

If you have tried everything else, then what other choice do you have but to call?

no, pw isnt wrong. Its auto-filled, and Ive double checked it on the spreadsheet. The other choice I have is to just let it go. If there is no hope to revive it, Id rather not call in and not be able to answer questions. I dont want it to set off some sort of deeper investigation, possibly put my other accounts at risk of discovery. On the other hand, Im just really curious WTF happened. Ive never seen "locked" before, and actually its happened to two accounts so far. As far as I can see they havent been connected, and I keep a pretty good log of any "oops" events that might link accounts. They were locked 5 days apart. As far as I can tell, its the login that is locked, not necessarily the accounts. The one major issue I have is that both are older (relatively) and when I set them up I didnt have a field for DOB in my spreadsheet (which I do now). So, if they ask DOB I gotta dance a bit. But, then again, the most likely issue I think is that I simply wont be in their "let me ask you questions about your past" database. No idea how to get around that one. Anyone had luck dealing with that when they call in?

Yeah.... I call in.

You talk the talk, walk the walk.

You need to be confident, assured, laid back.

His signature has a doozy of a thread about "talking"....

Read it, ask more questions!!!! You can do this if you prepare.

Yes remember you are just talking to a person not Inspector Clouseau, if you have all the answers then no reason you should be nervous

Accounts can become locked if there is a negative balance on them, would this be the case?

nope,. positive balance on both account. Im not sure what happened, but its not propagating so I know Ive got a good separation. Anyway, Ill probably end up letting these two go since I didnt write down my DOB (doh) and just be prepared for any future issues, but at least now Im a lot less nervous about calling. thanks.

Why let you money go to waste. If you are afraid of calling them from your landline, mobile, or any personal phone. Just open up a textfree app and call them from that. It's untraceable.

I keep track of all of my account balances even the suspended ones, and I include them all in my finances because all of it is my money.

And if all fails, You know you can get it intentionally linked to a old old account in which case they will restrict the account thus legally making your funds available after a 45 days mark. It sounds dumb to just walk away from the account. I can see if theres only like $5 bucks in there then your good to go. But to me that $5 bucks in my pocket and -$5 in paypals. A win - win situation.

Let me rephrase for you then. "It is untraceable from eBay and PayPal systems"
