how to ramp up to sell $1900 product?

Hey guys, just wanted to get your opinions on something.

I have a product i'd like to sell that goes for roughly $1900 CAD or $1500 US. It is not a very high risk product in terms of counterfeiting (it's a tool for working in an industrial environment) although I suspect if I sell a few of them the price may be an issue for ebay. I have noticed there is another ebayer with ~200 feedback selling 1-2 of these a day, although his account is quite old.

I have been out of the ebay game for quite some time, but I came across 10 units of this item that are going to auction at the end of the month and I can't afford to pass up this opportunity. My ebay account has 10 or 11 selling feedback and some buying on top of that. All of the items i sold were around $150 dollars. Mostly household goods small electronics etc. My selling limits are $3000 canadian.

If I go buy these items at auction do you think I could just start listing them right away? Or do I need to build more recent selling feedback first?

If they are selling fast and I decide to purchase a stealth account from one of the sellers here, how much selling feedback do I need to build before I can sell a product in this price range without triggering a ban?

Probably need to give some form of tax id quickly. I've sold quite a few items on one account, never asked for tax info but I put it in anyways, eBay or PayPal never bothered me or asked for information. Since it's a safer item, might be ok, by id wait for other members here to chime in.

Canada does not have tax info like we do in the USA.

Can you call in on this account if needed?
Can you supply receipts or give a very valid explanation of how you have them?

Are you shipping these items and supplying tracking numbers with signature?

Yes I can supply receipts. I won't have a receipt for every single item individually, but i'll have a receipt showing for the bulk purchase of the 10 items provided I win the auction.

The account is all my real info so I can call in. I did have a different account in my name banned in I think 2006/2007 for selling vero items but that was a different address and different ID used (my passport, where now I have a drivers license which I can provide if necessary), I assume that will not be an issue.

I will ship all of the items myself, tracked and insured of course.

I dont seen any issues then.
I suggest trying one and see how it goes. Then another. Not all at once right away.

yankee is correct - it's still a high sale on a new-ish account but worth a shot.

If your going to sell it regularly, I would advise building up a rock solid account, spreading sales, and ensuring you have every invoice, receipt, document, authenticity, manufacturers letters, and whatever else you can think of, at your disposal, so that if questioned, you can feed it through to ebay.

If it all works out, im sure it will make you good profit, and your sorted. Good luck :)
