can I receive 6,000$ in a new pp account w/o risk?

I will sell an antique worth 5/6k

the paypal account is stealth and never got a single incoming payment

its linked to a stealth eb 11feedback (as buyer)

now

1- can paypal limit the account just for receiving such amount?

2- how much chance of having this payment "21 hold" when receiving?

3- will paypal ask for any kind of personal info to release the 21hold? in that case Id be.. because its all stealth info.

4- which ways out of the 21hold, just wait the time or have the buyer confirm they got the item w/o problem?

thank you in advance

Answer to first three question is YES. Any alternative means of being paid? Heck of a lot of money to be held.

You have got to be kidding... right.
If you receive that amount into a new account you will get limited before the sun goes down.

HWGA there has to be a way to solve this

you say I will get limited, but the 21hold limit or a more severe paypal limit as when they ask for documents etc?

I ask b/c never got any kind of limits from pp and dont know how they work

My main concern is if the buyer tries to pull SNAD disputes or something like that.. being a high$$ item I wonder the auction will atract scamers.

alternative: If I come to an agreement with a buyer OUT OF EBAY, but through paypal, will pp still hold the funds ?...

thanks!

If it is a new PP account accepting a sale item from a new eBay account you will probably get the 21 day hold placed on the Paypal deposit.
Then when that trips the PP flags you will get a limited PP account due to the dollar amount of the transaction.
You will be asked to provide paper work to PP including your SSN for the name on the PP account.
Since you can not provide them the correct SSN since the PP account is a "Stealth" account you will be stuck with $6K sitting idol for 180 days.
Unless you are savvy enough to know how to get around the 21 Day Hold and the SSN requirement.
Neither are posted on this forum for security reasons. Nor will I tell you them. No offense but you are to new here.

As for the "Outside of eBay" way of paying....
You will be able to avoid the 21 day hold issues.
But as for the account limiting.... It will till probably still happen.
There are no solid answers here.

Have you thought of other means of payment?
USPS Postal Money Order?
Google Checkout?

HWGA;

The paypal is registered in south america, they don't ask for SSN on those. But also I dont know what kind of paperwork will they ask when limited. So you say I will 100% get a limited pp even if I pass the 21hold...

other payment methods; I have an US bank account ready to accept wire transfers. It doesnt mean the buyer will be ready to do it. They dont usually trust this way of payment.

I understand what you say about security reasons and I agree that info should to remain out of the forum.

but what would you do? you still have the 6k item with you. If I switch to a better stablished pp/eb combo will that help to avoid pp limit the acount for the big amount?

thanks

Guaranteed limitation within 24 Hours..

Even if you DO pass the obstacles the limitation will throw at you, I doubt they would even let the account back.

Please go in and post a country FLAG so that we can see that you are NOT from the USA.
I am sitting here explaining things to you like you were from the USA.
If your accounts are not US based then I am at a loss to take this any further.
99.8% of my knowledge is from my personal experience with accounts from the US.

divine422 02-16-2009 01:23 PM

Lol, we should totally have wagers on how fast that account will get limited (i kid :) )

siashay 02-16-2009 02:41 PM

Paypal lives for stuff like that. Imagine the interest they will get holding this guys money for 180 days. Yes you will get limited. Is there anyway at all you can get the buyer to pay you another way?

Cachufleta 02-19-2009 12:25 PM

lol@divine

yes siashay, I can try western union or direct bank transfer. But US ppl freaks out when they hear "bank wire". They think you are able to withdraw the money from their accs.

Some customers said "if that is the case I will pay 50% first and 50% after arrival.."

ITs hard for both sides I guess.

Will PP release the 180days hold as soon as you fax all the info they request?

X=D

divine422 02-19-2009 01:49 PM

Well after the 180 days you will get your funds even if you dont fax in anything, but do you really want to wait 180 days...there has to be another way...

siashay 02-19-2009 04:14 PM

Check into some escrow online accounts. It protects buyers to receiver merchandise before the seller gets paid, and protects sellers from credit card fraud.

GreenBean 02-19-2009 05:27 PM

DING DING DING (to quote HWEGA). Look at paymate. That has an escrow service.

escrow is the most stupidest thing ever the buyer can lie and say it was not as described or the box was empty and get his money back and keep the merchandise
