Alternative to tracphones for canadians

Hello everyone, I am from canada and we don't have tracphones here and i wanted to know if there are something similar to it. I do not want apps or risked to have a burned number so i would prefer a prepaid service that has my own fresh number. I heard fido was good but they seem pretty expensive if i have to pay monthly for their service.

Virgin also have a cheap prepaid plan.
Several other companies do as well such as Windmobile.
Try google to find other options.
