Modified name Question
 

Hi everyone,

I got a very unique first name lol, and I was wondering if I can completely change that to another first name and keep my last name as my suspended account (my last name is very common to be honest). Will I have a problem with my bank and ebay/Paypal?

Bank would never be a problem as all bank accounts must be made with real ID.

paypal sees the numbers of accounts.

Your better aim is to make a new account and not be linked to old suspended info.

@jazzel70, just to clarify - you mean change on PP platform?

IF so - just follow GB's advice and start fresh and stealth...forget the old info

Hi GB,

I will be creating a new stealth account but I wanted to know if by using a completely different first name and the same last name as my old suspended account will create any issues

If ALL else is different (date of birth, address, cc, bank, etc) then likelihood is low - this includes WHAT you are selling and HOW (example: you must use different listings and pictures from previous suspended accounts)

Oh ok. Thank you very much! I was planning to sell the same things that I used to sell on one of my suspended accounts because I am planning to use eBay as a way to add another sales channel to my amazon products. Only one of the products is exactly the same as the suspended one. Will this still be a problem?

Yes, there is the potential for issues.

ebay uk are adept at linking accounts.

PS.... Given your post above mine, then you are certainly going to have a chance of issues of linking. Trust me on this.

So what would be the best option when it comes to modified names if they are going to link my account with the option that I suggested?

I am planning to open my account as soon as possible but this step is worrying me a bit. I don't want to commit a mistake which will then make eBay suspend my account in the future

Join the club jazzel70, when it comes to unique first names I have never come across another person with the same first name as me in my nearly 60 years of life, but, at the same time it has been incredibly easy to come up with equally unique variations of my name for accounts and I have had quite a bit of fun coming up with those variations. As has been said, bank accounts are always opened in our genuine real names.

Thank you. I have actually started asking permission to a couple of family members that have an address in which an ebay account hasn't been set up and also I will be using their name as well or a variation of my own name
