If so how would I go about doing that - just keeping the device on at all times? |

:coffee: | Just so i have a static ip when using ebay accounts. |
Re: Possible to keep the same ip when using a mifi? I very much doubt so. Mobile networks are known for usually giving a new IP EVERYTIME you connect.
For static IPs, best bet is a VPN. |

Yep, use VPN, but honestly if you are using mifi and you are getting a different IP each time it really wont cause problems (if you are running only one stealth account) that i know of as long as you dont clear cookies each time. BUT on another note, if you are running more than one stealth account you need to at least keep track of IP's when switching accounts so you dont log into two different stealth accounts with the same IP, that would be a account killer. Wait for more input before you decide.:thumb: |

Just make sure you dont repeat the mistake.
I am sure OP wants to run multiple accounts, so keeping track is crucial. |

But if you do it on a regular or even semi-regular basis it will raise a flag. You kind of got to think like your playing the lottery, whats the chances of winning on the same numbers twice or even three times. The odds of that go way down and someone is going to notice. What i do is just keep a spreadsheet on all IP's when switching accounts. I use a mifi for my accounts and i have noticed that it's not really a issue of getting an IP used 2 or 3 days or a week ago, but getting a repeat IP between accounts in the same few hours of working on accounts does happen, even on a reset of the mifi, i have had it happen even after taking the battery out and restarting the mifi. So great care is advised.:bump: |

But I would deem it high risk. | No, what i was saying is that , with the Service provider i use, it has a very large IP pool. That Getting the same repeat IP from 2 or 3 days or even a week age is very unlikely, I have kept a spreadsheet of every login i have ever had with stealth accounts. Can it happen, Yes definitely. What i have found is that the highest risk in getting a repeat IP is when you are doing a session or shorter period of time, like a matter of hours. That is when you are at a higher risk of gaining a repeat IP. Its like when you release a IP you have used a little while, it seems to kind of "hang around" in your area before being reassigned by DHCP to a different general area. I know that is not how its supposed to work, but it seems that there are multiple DHCP servers (of course) and that they rotate subleased IP's , so that once a IP is gained in an area it will continue to be available in that general area for a short period of time and be more likely to be reassigned to you when resetting the mifi rather than shutting down for the day or several hours and then starting the mifi again.:smash: | | All times are GMT -5.
