| | | | Verizon mifi = Low selling limits... I was just reading the comments in the book and aspkin stated that he has noticed using Verizon MiFi results in low selling limits. The two accounts I created using my Verizon MiFI came out getting 5/500 limits. I think those are the lowest limits I've ever got.
I made 2 accounts 4 months ago using sloppy methods. One with a public IP which got suspended in the first month. And one using a static ip at the pool of my apartment complex which got a limit of 500/25,000 sometime in the first 60 days. On this account I'm not sure what it got at creation since I was new to ebay and didn't know enough to look.
My question is: Does anyone have experience making an account with AT&T tethering up until the first item is listed? Then once the limit is given switching to Verizon? Does that seem to give higher limits?
I'm also considering searching the neighborhood for open wifi's to create accounts and keep the connection until I sell and get my limit. It differently seems static IP will allow higher limits. But once the limit is given and you switch to Verizon MiFi will it effect the account? |
| yankee | 08-06-2016 09:44 AM | Re: Verizon mifi = Low selling limits... 5-500 are the fastest growing account if you are not calling in. Usually you can have them at 50-5000 in a week and well over a hundred by the end of the month.
But to answer your question, High limits are more likely when you have a static private IP, Real telephone number from a real phone, real credit card, really good address and name.
Those high limit accounts also seem to have doc requests much more often and paypal limitations. |
Re: Verizon mifi = Low selling limits... There's no corollation between MIFI and making accounts with 5/$500, I use a mifi and 90% of the time I get 1,000/$25,000. |

Took me over an hour to make 1 account at the strip club, no idea why?? |

That is a new one on me! | They do in Las Vegas when I was living there. Lots of guys come in during the day on their lunch time and eat there so I guess they need wifi. |

| I use both a 4G cell phone tether and a 3G mifi (Verizon), i have made 500/25,000 and 1000/25,000 on both with no problems. I really dont think a static IP really matters that much. What matters more in my opinion is the quality of information that you use.:coffee: |

Would using a house that's listed as being in forecloser be considered a poor quality address? I also look for houses that sold for around 100k which is really cheap where I'm at (on the east coast of FL). I was looking at it as "I doubt someone selling on ebay would have ever lived there". Any experience between cheap or high priced real estate?
I don't even want that high of limits. 10 items a month would be good enough. I was just concerned by aspkins recent comment that it may take my 5/500 a long time to raise based on using IP's from Verizon. So I was going to experiment with AT&T since I have that too. Was just wondering if anyone would share their experience using AT&T since I know there are people here with the experience to share.
Quote from his comment reply July 15, 2016:
I suspect in the future ebay/paypal might judge mobile broadband more harshly. I have already seen evidence with Verizon MiFi devices. It is only specific to Verizon. Other MiFi/mobile devices are not effected. Verizon MiFi results in lower limits for new accounts.
That said, mobile broadband is overall fine. (just stay away from Verizon mifi at the moment)
He also said that dedicated IP's were best, and that he had accounts where he still uses Verizon MiFi without troubles. |

Any experience between cheap or high priced real estate? | I personally wouldn't use houses that are in foreclosure. I use homes in a good neighborhood that have been sold 2 or 3 times in the last 10 to 15 or 20 years. If i find any public info attached to the address that i suspect at all may cause a flag when creating a account, i do not use it. There is really no magic combination to creating accounts that i have found. Limiting any negative info coming into the account creation is just a good philosophy i think. On the other hand, I wouldn't really think that using a address in the high end of Boca Raton would be a good idea either, unless its mine of course. I just kind of try to keep it all as if i am "Mr or Mrs Middle America", with no credit problems. Someone who could either take or leave eBay or PP one way or another. :comp5: |
