I unfortunately made the mistake of using a free iPhone app to use as a "new phone number" which worked to verify both my PayPal and eBay. Tried to list my first item and it's saying I've reached my seller limits for the month... I've searched the forums and the leading culprit was bad phone number.

My question is, do I call them to ask them to raise my seller limits? Can I use the online chat to do so? If I call, can I just use my actual phone? What questions do they ask?

They are going to ask data base question to verify your identity on 0-0 limits. It also sounds like you tried to list instantly? Typically, this pulls a 0-0 limit as well, especially on a phone app.

seeing as you have phone number, call in on it. It is free and you have the number so why make it more complicated right?

I told you, you would get 0/$0 selling limits with free phone apps....did you not believe me? Just let it go, live and learn.

I already had a 0/0 before even listing so it's not because I tried listing right after. And are you referring to the free phone app I have to call in? Because I only have 10 minutes on it and I'm sure that's not enough with how long they always make you hold so again can I call on my regular phone or not?

and ebay is still TOLL FREE and takes zero minutes.....and you could always splurge and buy minutes.....

I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying. The app only lets me talk for 10 minutes then it will turn off, it has nothing to do with toll free. On the other forum post you told me to ditch the account but also recommended me to call in and see first hand what I'm dealing with... So that's just confusing

I feel we have two types of people on this forum. People who do things without excuses and figures things out as a problem comes up and then we have people who find excuses and reasons why something does not work.

Never one time have I been disconnected call ebay or paypal with ZERO minutes on text free, sideline, text plus etc... for being on the phone for 10 minutes. Maybe this is something new. But IF you have a concern, you could always buy minutes...

The only way you will learn and understand what happens on 0-0 limits is by calling ebay. Not sure what else I could say at this point.

I say just ditch the account, their so easy to make......you could of made another 10-15 by now.

If you did any amount of research, you'd find countless threads on the subject. Either make the account correctly, or stop being a pussy and call them. We don't care what you do.
