| | | Ebay_Victim | 03-12-2009 03:47 AM | Arrgg!! Ebay limited listings auctions help I have almost 100 fb, and its been 90 days since I got the new account. My account is still limited from listing some brand names. They still want me to wait to get it lifted. Another 90 days. 120 days total now. I have NO complaints. My DSR is PERFECT. The only thing i did was listed a description from a website.
They kept on saying, i signed up as a "seller" account. So should i start buying? this is a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ account i cant use it to buy.
Does anyone know why? How many fb will i need to get it lifted. Im thinking that it may be bc i've been deleting their security flash cookies every night.
Any ideas? Im getting desperate, ive waited so long already:tears: |
| aspkin | 03-12-2009 04:00 AM | Why not follow the steps in eBay Stealth, and start a new account? Easy easy..
And keep your flash objects up.. it's not good to delete them.
Good luck, |
| GreenBean | 03-12-2009 04:05 AM | Follow aspkin's advice. I'll add another couple, never do a description from a website, make the listing in your own words. The ebay bots are set up to detect web-words. If you must list brand names then have a receipt to prove they are authentic. Or sell another item. |
| Ebay_Victim | 03-12-2009 05:20 AM | yea but how much longer will i have to wait? Thats my main question. Also, already have your stealthbook. Should I keep up the flash cookies even if i change accounts?
i have 3 backup accounts. And I'm still waiting for the main one to list wo limitation. i havent broken any rules or even had any complaints |
| GreenBean | 03-12-2009 05:33 AM | Yes, make separate users accounts and keep the flash cookies for each account. What was the actual notice from ebay? Although you think you have done nothing wrong, they do not. |
| boondoggle | 03-12-2009 05:42 AM | They obviously think the items are ⊗⊗⊗⊗. Ive had a few listings removed for copying website descriptions and other peoples images (being lazy) but its usually no big deal, just change things around a little and alter the pictures and I relist it.
I did get a similar thing happen to me where they told me I couldnt list a certain brand for 30 days because it was risky, although I had 200 fb all positive. |

That 90 days they tell you to wait is bunch of BULL! It's just another Ebay tactic to stop you from contacting them every day of the week so they don't get flooded with Emails. My one account that had some violations for digital copyright stuff is over a year old now still is limited in a certain category regardless of the requests made to get it lifted. Read my horror story Thread for more info. I think they will hold the violations against you for life. The best way is to start a new account with a clean slate. No Violations is a must on the new account otherwise risk being in the same situation you are in now.
Hope this helps.

| Ebay_Victim | 03-12-2009 02:37 PM | Im thinking of going out to one of those meetings and protest. I've seen horror stories on youtube.
so should I call? I heard not to call. Im only selling $20 brand name cosmetics. |
| Ebay_Victim | 03-12-2009 02:51 PM | heres the email:
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your further concerns.
You’re able to list items, but you’re still restricted in certain
categories.
You should continue to build a positive selling history on eBay and
visit your seller dashboard to see your progress, view your buyer’s
satisfaction level, and keep your account in good standing.
Sellers with a good track record may be eligible to have their account
restrictions modified. We take positive feedback, selling history and
activity, feedback, PayPal verification, policy compliance, and account
standing into consideration.
Feedback's a big part of your selling history and is considered when
raising your limits, but there are other factors as well.
We encourage you to continue to build a positive history selling these
items on eBay. After 90 days, we'll be happy to review your account
again.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Alfonse

| Burst | 03-12-2009 03:53 PM | Change the listing completely, change image, choose a different category, relist |
i used to get the same problem a long time ago
it is usually some word you have put in the title that is the problem like a brand name if you delete the brand name and press continue it will not give you the error |

Keep flash cookies even switching to different accounts? |
| Burst | 03-12-2009 07:43 PM | If you have more than one user account in windows, it will save the flash cookie to each user account. Thus you are able to safely keep your flash cookies. |
| Ebay_Victim | 03-13-2009 04:41 AM | wow didnt know that. thanks Orion! and everyone else.
I think that must be my biggest problem. Deleting the flash cookies. I can't think of anything else. i have all different users. so..i missed that part of the stealth book |

| Ebay_Victim | 03-24-2009 11:09 PM | Would it make a difference if i start buying stuff, they keep on saying "its a seller ac****, its a seller account its a seller account" on every email. i cant use it to purchase anything and i dont think i want to email someone to send it to another address. |
| GreenBean | 03-24-2009 11:29 PM | :croc:Going to shot straight from the hip here. What will make a difference is if YOU calm down. Over-reacting will see you lose the account. I do not recommend 'harassaing ebay just because you want to sell. I agree with you that buying might not be such a bright idea. Look at this post by Orion Change the listing completely, change image, choose a different category, relist
or this by our own ebay i used to get the same problem a long time ago it is usually some word you have put in the title that is the problem like a brand name if you delete the brand name and press continue it will not give you the error
these are methods to try. Do a revision of the stealth book as well. Think of making new accounts. Enough of the moaning;) :peace: |
| Ebay_Victim | 03-25-2009 04:31 AM | i was nice, i never argued w them. i changed everything and followed the book. everytime i emailed them, they said bc this is a sellers account, i have to wait another 90 days. |
| GreenBean | 03-25-2009 04:38 AM | OK, just that on here you sound annoyed & implied you had been agro with ebay. That is an ebay trick to feed BS to you. So, maybe more kindly from me, try what has been suggested. You may have a solution :peace: |
| Ebay_Victim | 03-25-2009 05:05 AM | Does it matter if this is a seller account or not, thats what im wondering.
"Because your account was recently registered as a selling account,
certain restrictions apply. After you have built up additional positive
selling history, please contact us so we can review your account and
consider raising your selling limits." |
| oompaloompa | 03-25-2009 08:24 AM | I dont get deleting the brand name, how will you sell item if the brand name doesnt shown we all know they get the hits and generic get zero.
Also why do flash cookies matter, in terms of listing limitations? Does it make you more trustworthy? |
| GreenBean | 03-25-2009 08:36 AM | ^^^the OP wants to go on selling. The suggestions were to attempt to change the listings. If he sells OK, his FB increases etc & the account becomes better established.:typing:
Re flash cookies & the listings, I do not think that is the issue. The point might be that an account needs the pesky cookies to stay under ebay radar. Whatever the 'constraints/requirements' ebay is after, the account needs to have it Does that make sense?:typing: |
| oompaloompa | 03-25-2009 01:09 PM | I am doing ok with my flash disabled on all my users. Ebay havent flagged me for it, (yet) |
| lakeman | 03-25-2009 01:22 PM | Ebay's help section says you can disable flash cookies, although they don't recommend it. It also says if you do that, you may need to verify your identity at times by having to get a call and put in the 4 digit code. |
| Ebay_Victim | 03-25-2009 02:27 PM | i can't move around the letters, i sell mac cosmetics and some other brand name cosmetics. i tried M.A.C, MAC'S, changed catogorie, theres not much i can do here |
| Ebay_Victim | 03-27-2009 04:00 PM | So should i buy something or not? i checked sellers who has lower dsr score and they get to sell the stuff im going to sell, but they buy stuff |
I don't think it really matters to Ebay if you buy anything, but will improve your feedback score on this account while you have restriction....Open few more Stealth accounts and spread out your items selling. Don't depend on only one account, and take it slow.
Yea, Ebay will let others do things they won't let you do. That's Ebay's Justice.:boink: |
| Ebay_Victim | 03-29-2009 02:03 AM | i have 3 backups. and 1 for buying, and im using all of it
And theyre all seller accounts. ive noticed some others whos been buying alot, she has poorer dsr, and she's selling the same things. she opened the account around the same time.. |
| GreenBean | 03-29-2009 02:15 AM | Victim, you have to accept that ebay is unfair. No two accounts are treated the same. You and I can sell the same items, have nearly the same dsrs but I will get listings pulled and you will not. Hence the value of more than one account. Work them all slowly, carefully and have no problems. |
| Ebay_Victim | 03-31-2009 06:14 PM | YAY! they finally lifted it! i kept begging and made it look like im kissing their asses, and finally livechat let me talk to trust & safety. You'll need a chat session ID, if T & S is closed that day. You'll have to get permission to be transfered.
i couldn't believe it! |
they always say the only way you can contact the trust and safety dept is by email only |
| lakeman | 03-31-2009 06:21 PM | Sometimes Live chat says the only way to contact Trust and Safety is by Email and sometimes they will transfer you right over through Live chat. I'm not sure why they say that, but I've experienced both. |
| GreenBean | 03-31-2009 06:23 PM | Victim has scored a good victory. Good work. Go slowly now and be careful.:amen:
Forum motto: There is always a way around ebay:cheer: |
| Ebay_Victim | 04-01-2009 09:39 PM | They said if you wanted to talk to t&s by chat, you're suppose to be a powerseller. But this particular chat finally gave me permission. I dunno why. i just know i didnt delete flash cookies, for a couple weeks. And ive been chatting w live chat every nite lol!
