I called in to ebay on a stealth account. My previous calls in I was given 100% increase in my listing limits each time. This time I was told that eBay was doing something new and they had to contact a "back office" team and call me back tomorrow with an answer. Has anyone else run up against this?

"back office" LOL sounds like ebay is part of the mafia now. Never heard of this and sounds like you got an unintelligent rep. Or it may be that the account is already flagged. I would call in as if nothing happened and see what they say. When calling ebay if you dont get what you want the first time, keep calling, until you do. You can always get what you want with ebay you just have too be persistent.

Let us know if they call back. If they don't, most likely the rep was just an idiot.
Once again, I am faced with a listing limit increase roadblock around 5000 items listed. The person wants to call me back after "talking to another department". No call back yet after several days. I called again today and they said someone is already working on my case? Is anyone else running into this?
The account has 100% positive feedback, only one case ever opened. Closed in my favor.
You already have VERY high limits if your account has 5000 items listed.
That would explain their desire to review your account before granting a limit increase.
To be clear, I've NEVER had any issues or "back office" contacts on any account with limits of 1000 items per month or fewer.
Aside from that, honestly you should really be diversifying your listings, 5000 items on one account is a lot and if that account goes down you're going to feel the pain.
