AesaeBay | 05-11-2021 09:06 AM | Suspended and Reinstated? Hi,
Just curious for your opinions.
I have been selling on eBay casually for years on and off. I was registered as a business seller but I’ll admit, did not declare my income. I was not making a fortune (a few hundred £ a month) and it seemed like too much effort for what I was earning, but I get that I should have been declaring all income.
When eBay started pushing managed payments I registered for it but within a few months they then needed a UTR number for tax purposes and a previous tax return etc which I could not supply. A few months later I got an eBay suspension (December 2020) and could no longer withdraw anything until I provided what they needed.
At this point I left my eBay account as it was, stopped selling and cancelled my subscription. I intended to delete it and make a new account but register and declare my earnings, so I registered with HMRC and got a UTR number. I couldn't delete my account as I had recent transactions so I left eBay for the dust to settle and to start fresh later in the year when it would allow me to close the account.
A few months later I then got an email “MC042 NOTICE: eBay Registration Reinstatement” thanking me for providing the documents they required and that I could continue to buy and sell on eBay. I’ve logged in and haven’t listed anything yet but it all seems in order. My account fees are (minus) -£2.00 so I think they owe me a small amount.
The thing is I didn’t actually send eBay my UTR number or provide any of the documents they asked for so I'm not sure why it's been reinstated. Has this happened to anyone else?
I don’t know whether to keep selling again on this account or just make a new one as I intended.
Grateful for your opinion,
Adam. |
