I got a Rolex box removed for "encouraging infringement" I go back and look and there are like 40 identical boxes still sitting there.
There used to be a guy (on Yahoo auctions)selling a complete Rolex package sans watch for around $125. Probably more profitable that selling the watch (knockoff) itself.

bigrab54 01-28-2008 10:03 PM

i was selling a few of identical items listed as a auction. where as powerseller had them buy it nows for double the price of my starting auction price. within 6 hours of being up for auction my account had been suspended. powerseller still selling his 20+ items of the same thing. ebay said take it up with the company as they where the ones who noticed i was selling counterfets. well i have picture almost identical as powerseller and description which basically is the same.

My answer to vero is powersellers as they dont like when some guy with 100 feed back comes in and can out price them. so they do the only thing they can do.

I had 100% feedback at the time, feedback of 124, around 120 days old, had 1 vero pull before hand(not the same item DVD) and thats about it really. hope i helped

how do you pay taxes on the income you get from selling counterfeit items?

koalawash 02-09-2008 08:41 PM

^^^^^^ Lol

Killed by Ebay 02-09-2008 08:59 PM

lol i was just curious, alot of people sell counterfiet stuff on ebay, and lots of it. If your making thousands of doallars a year from it wont the irs catch up to you?

When filing taxes at the end of the year for your eBay business, what type of infomation do you have to give the tax man?

ebayvictim 02-09-2008 09:50 PM

When I've read the posts re vero items. I didn't realize we were discussing counterfeit items. I've been knocked off on 2 different accounts for selling VINTAGE AUTHENTIC Louis Vuitton purses.....obviously authentic and 20+ years old. How do I sell them? I still have 20+ in my garage!

ebayhateluv 02-09-2008 11:04 PM

HI:
I do not think the guys are speaking of Counterfeit.. I think what they are referring to is their Frustration in trying to list and complete a Sale, after theyve invested in the item, the cost of advertising, the time involved in taking the pics, writing descriptions, and answering Buyers emails..
ONLY to have the listing taken down, and then their accts banned..

Killed by Ebay 02-09-2008 11:11 PM

i was talking about counterfeits

How would you go about listing a Rolex Dealers Showroom Display clock?
FUNNY THING--
a.) ebay is o.k. with the clocks, but Rolex takes them down- says not allowed in the publics hands
b.) Empty vintage rolex boxes, Rolex is ok with--EBay does not allow--says people are gonna place ⊗⊗⊗⊗ watches in them??

Selling empty rolex boxes?

ebayhateluv 02-10-2008 06:17 AM

HI, Highwhey:
Let me Elaborate: My dad and I were Rolex Memorobolia Collectors for many years.. NOT the watches, but the stuff that comes Free , when you buy one, the Pens, caps, shirts, Luxury Cases, ect.
-- I have found that some of the Vintage Rolex + Tudor cases that once housed the Original watches, can bring some nice money, if you know what to look for..
--Example-- the Daytona line is the MOST sought after line for boxes, a box, maybe costing Rolex $30 to have made in the 60's + 70's, now will bring close to $500!
--An inexperienced Seller, first..will NOT know which model Daytona it will fit-
--so they simply list "Rolex Box", whereas I resell as Fits Daytona models, 5012,9999, etc..
--Also on the bottom of the case, are markings that Buyers know.. i.e. the Geneve Suisse, 51.01.101- again a date code.
-- So, I would buy a box for say $30-$100, take clear close ups photos, reword it, maybe add the hologram seal or booklet that missing , from another buy I had made, now making this box, a "box set", then resell---
Now the $30-$100, brings anywhere from $90-$600..
>> ONly Problem.. they issued a massive crackdown in Summer of 2006- right around the Tiffany Lawsuit-- now they say empty boxes are NOT allowed, as people take them, and put ⊗⊗⊗⊗ watches in them?? Called 'encouraging" ??
--So, now i have a couple hundred boxes in my dining room, (i think only 3 or 4 are the same, all different colors, styles )from 10-12 years of collecting, that I cannot move.. The Loal Rolex A.D. offered to buy from me, but I think I will sit on them, as my dad has now passed, and I know what we have into them, The A.D. offering ridiculous prices, like $10 box..
--So, Morale is- DO NOT Buy if you cannot resell.. :)

ivegotinfo 02-14-2008 12:03 AM

why dont you set up an insane ridiculous money making niche site through that? that is a really good niche and if people are willing to buy the rolex boxes, you will definitely have customers, and not have to put up with ebays bull

you'll probably get in trouble...cant they report you for fraud? If this works, I'm in.

Anyways, how does vero work? Do they manually search for listing or by keyword?

ivegotinfo 02-15-2008 08:15 PM

she can't get in trouble, shes selling legal 100% auth boxes... its just that ebay is the one run by idiots who dont let you sell that.

and yeah for vero they search by the brand name. they actually even look at your pictures and description,

dakrei 02-16-2008 12:22 AM

I have an old bill of sale for a 67 corvette. I must say that if ebay pulls that they must pull all print copys ALL books, reprints and copys . It looks like ebay is out of busines!!!!

Listing title for Vero Items

example

New Generic 2GB Ipod Nano STYLE Video MP3/MP4 Player

I see these all the time on eBay and not sure if this was against the rules, i believe on the quiz they have a quiz referring to this and i believe they said it was ok. Not positive. If you dont use the word Apple and in your auction listing you make it clear that it isnt an Apple product is this ok?

ebayvictim 03-03-2008 06:46 PM

I think they will consider ipod and nano to be keyword spamming. How is that different than 'like new'? It's not only apple that's an issue in your listing but any 'brand' they own. You can't use like or style or similar in a title or subtitle. And only once in your description, if memory serves me correctly.

Superpak 03-10-2008 02:49 AM

Yeah thats a good question, how do people here who sell Vero items, get around tax?

GreenBean 03-10-2008 03:41 AM

Tax? That is nearly as funny a word as ebay. Since tax is based on income
thresholds in Australia the amounts are variable. If you are earning enough to
need to pay tax, you have a very good accountant who helps....

Superpak 03-10-2008 04:28 AM

How about if your only 18 have a part-time job (works 1 days a week earning less then $90 a week) and gets huge amounts of cash rolling into their bank account. Pretty sure the tax authorities will get suspicious!

bbcoach 03-10-2008 08:06 PM

Anyone had a newer account 30-60 days, get items pulled down for Vero and not have the account suspended?? this happened to me today, I ran some auctions ending last night, all went well, today get an email saying the listings were removed, I figured I would get the seller suspended email later, but it never came and my 10-15 non-vero items ended tonight without a problem.

GreenBean 03-10-2008 08:27 PM

a few chances still

;) You may get two chances, maybe three: you get told to take the vero tutorial. Infringe after that and then suspension. I think there is a chart of
the number of warnings B4 suspension. Different numbers for account types.

Now to preempt this, you can take the vero tutorial AND you do not need to sign into your account. Or, do it signed in B4 ebay tell you to do so. Makes ebay
happy because they think you are nice.
