new account linked with 4yr old suspended. anything i can do?
 

I opened a new account a few months ago for my business, started selling a few items. i hit a limit called ebay to get it raised and they linked me with an account i havent used in 4+ years that owes $420. anyone have advise on getting this issue resolved asside from paying set amount off? im guessing im better off making new accounts and opening additional accounts to use at my bank..thoughts?

firstly how did you get linked. We need to work out if it was an obvious slip up or something deeper. They are know to look deeper when you owe them. Run thru the name/address/cookies/LSO/bank/cards/unique goods any of those?

Welcome to the forums. Now is a good time to get the stealth guide and understand HOW you were linked (as the wise oompa has stated).

Now this being said...MOST of the time, I would say you are "virtually" dead with the account. You now have to convince eB ay that you have NO ties to that account....this idea takes quite a bit of work - I would not suggest thinking "Oh if I pay it off I will be fine"...naw, eb is worse than that.

Simplicity? New UNLINKED accounts is the better option. All the best.

i got linked because they were researching me. they asked me a few questions and after they put me on hold they said this account was mine because the name was the same. i told them i didnt know anything about it. the name and address was me, birthday was also the same. i told them i didnt know anything about it nor did i have access to the username, maybe my brother used it, i wasnt sure. They had me email resolve@ebay.com which informed me i owe $420. so the only thing that linked me was my name :/ I also made the mistake of linking this account, with my mom's account..which is registered under that address..that's probably what did it! now im in a tough spot because i dont want to damage my mom's 10+ yr old account. her selling limit just got lowered too..

Why was this (the original account) suspended?

Was it just for failure to pay fees, or was it something more involved?
