Should I try to reinstate this account.

My friend gave me his unused account of 6 years old. It only had 5 feedback for buying when I got it.

In the past 3 months, I made about 5k sale on this account and accumulated 30 feedback including 1 negative. Last week, this account was banned. I figured it was about VeRo issue. Quite a few items I sold on this account were brand name.

I called in and wanted to try my luck to revive this issue. This lady told me risk department determined I am a risk and not suitable for ebay. She told me I cannot appeal this issue. But a few days later, when I logged into this account to check message (yes, I still would like to take care of my customers even though this account is banned), I got a message asking me send in documents (photo id + bank statements) for appeal. I do have both documents on hand.

Here is the dilemma. It seems quite wasteful to give up this ebay and paypal ID. I already had 3 100+ fd accounts restricted for selling in the past year. I am a bit short on accounts now. However, I don't really want to let ebay have my data, since they might use against sellers as many people said here.

Just want to hear some opinions from the crowd. Thanks a lot. :canada:

Welcome to the forums. Tough call indeed - do you go with what the agent says or do you go by the message in your box. I would call again first in 48 hours and say you have this message - act as if you have not spoken to an agent before - and ask for help. MAYBE that will work but my gut reaction is that you are wasting your time. Do NOT send in docs though blindly...you have to feel out the situation here.

Maybe other folx have similar experiences so wait for them to chime in then.

I would personally go for it. You have nothing REALLY to loose.

The reason why I say that is because the docs you have are for the account thats banned and most likely can only be used for that account.

If the other accounts are stealth, then you will need separate docs for those accounts.

If they are real, then its kind of a tough call on that since they will probably link the other 3 banned accounts and not reinstate any of them.

As Rsot said, wait to hear from others. But, thats just my two cents
