Category Restriction - Closing eBay Account
 

Hey,

A few months ago i got hit with a category restriction that they say will never go away in Consumer Electronics.

My account is now in good standing though (top rated), however, i really want to sell in that category.

If i close my account and open a new one, will the restriction follow?

Initially all accounts have category restrictions but at least u can work towards unlocking them

Dont close the account - just make new stealth and work with that. You can build the rep of this account over time - with patience.

any chance that they ever remove the restriction?

Flip a coin.

As time goes on, possible - you need to build your rep on the account. Right now, your account is not ready.

It will not follow you unless you link accounts.

But on new sellers you will see this over and over again.

Best to spread sales out over many accounts almost wiping out their category limits.
