Below standard for 2 months...

About to be my third month on the 19 June.

My question is, can I just close the account, and launch a new account?

I know the new one will start with crappy limits. But is it possible to do this?

No point as the accounts would get linked.

Best action would be keep trying to improve the failing account and in the meantime create several unlinked stealth accounts.

You can't close an account if it's performance is below standard I think.

What happened that you let one month go past let alone two?

These days you have to fight to keep the account going.

Never close an account of your own accord.
(Let ebay/paypal kill it).

A new account will start with low limits. You should make new stealth accounts.

But you must address the issues of poor performance too.

Keep trying to keep your old account alive. Never let an account die if it can be helped.

In the mean time build up a new stealth.

So what will happen on my third month?

I have all good ratings except 'item as described' and I have 7 low 1-2 ratings within 12 months, and 4 within 3 months. Done 298 sales last three months. So my percentage is 1.78%.

I've changed my listings now to avoid anymore and it's working.

However? Is the account salvageable?

eBay probably tried to contact you by phone, at least once in a week. Then they will shut your account down after five months.
If this account is legit, or if you have brave, call eBay and discuss with them.
One of my account limited because of similar reason, they called me a lot, but I did not pick up because of unknown number.
After my account limited, I called them and they replied me that I supposed to contact to eBay before its limited. They also said that they had an option to relief / improve DSRs.

If I am in this case again,
1) I would start to build up back up accounts
2) decrease selling on low DSR account then sell only 100% new items and ship out very fast to gain only positive feedback with 5 stars.
3) transfer sales to new accounts, but increase sales slowly.
4) Mind Control! You made this situation, so your decreased income is what you deserved.
5) and read a lot on this forum.

Forget wasting time to try and close and open new account which will inherently be linked. Pay your dues - let the account settle (or sales to up the performance, your choice) and go build new stealth accounts
