Listing removed, reinstated and removed again
 

Hi,

I'm selling a product that seems to 'tread a fine line' in eBay's words.

I have had a fixed priced listing and have sold around 400 of the product. Recently however, my listing was removed under MC999.

I phoned eBay and explained the situation, the agent stated you had to word the product very carefully. I explained I had done this, and noted how the big sellers in the category have sold up to 8000 without removal.

The agent looked at my listing and then said he would speak to the relevant team and try get it reinstated.

Fortunately the next day my listing was back and I progressed as usual. However, it has now been removed again under the same MC999

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of the same? I need to acquire that seeming invincibility these other top sellers have but am unsure what my next step should be.

Thoughts?

Its likely someone is reporting your listing, probably a competitor.

Theres not alot you can do. But be careful, onebtoo many policy violations and your account will be indefinitely suspended.

Cannot really base your sales on what big sellers can do.

They will have a lot more favour with eBay and may have permissions that you do not have.

Acquiring "invincibility" is difficult and definitely seller-by-seller basis...so many factors to deal with and you can wager that big tips may not be shared so easily in your niche market

The thing is, I have the same supplier as one of these invincible sellers. So I asked my supplier to get info from him on avoiding having listings removed. He just claimed to have repeatedly phoned eBay until they caved in. Looks like I'll have to do the same.

Seems a strange situation. Very frustrating.

Strange? It is not strange at all. It happens all the time.

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do about it. Find something else to sell on this account and maybe try listing this on another account, but with the title, wording, pictures and details changed a bit.
