VISA gift cards - available where?

Are these still available at larger Tescos & Sainsburys?
If not, where?

Minimum purchase is £25?

Is there an address that needs to be attached to it or is it like Entrop*y (no address)?

just_smile 10-06-2016 01:52 PM

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

Yes they are available at most supermarkets.

£25 plus a £2.95 activation fee.

You will want to register them in your stealth details.

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

How long does it take for the small payment (+ 4 digit code) to be shown on the card.
Is it 2-3 days?

Certain prepaid cards are instant - can see payment + code in "Pending transactions"

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

All of them in my experience are instant

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

They are instant

You can also pick some up in Boots.

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

Tried to enter an address in My Profile but get error message:

Enter valid address
Enter valid Zip/Postal Code

(tried 2 addresses - both valid - matches to Royal Mail database)

Is there anything else I need to do?

JamesNorth101 10-08-2016 09:23 AM

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

You need to delete the space in the postcode sometimes for it to go through

Aggro 10-09-2016 12:27 PM

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

No joy

Have tried spaces/no space, capitals, every permutation...get same error message

Only good thing is I can still buy stuff without entering a reg'd address

Are there any other gift cards available from shops OTHER than the Vanilla card?

JamesNorth101 10-09-2016 01:25 PM

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

Yep most shops have different types just have a look around

Sorry to say that as usual, most of the time the staff in the shops aint got a Scooby so you are more than likely going to have to look/find them yourself.

JamesNorth101 10-09-2016 05:26 PM

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

Just ask where all the gift cards are. They should know what you mean by that

falcon32 10-10-2016 10:17 AM

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

I found them in boots/sainsbury/wallmart and morrisons thanks.

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

Did you find any VISA gift card which was NOT Vanilla VISA card?

If so what is the name of the card?
Cost?

JamesNorth101 10-10-2016 05:06 PM

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

They are all around £25.

Each shop has its own range of cards that they sell. Just have a look in each superstore to see what they have in stock

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

I don't get this gift card thing .. how do u find out what the card number and details are ? the ones I have seen are just plain with silly picture on but no numbers on or anything

JamesNorth101 10-10-2016 05:53 PM

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

Its not a Tesco gift card you want

Its a MasterCard or VISA gift card you want

They will display the VISA or MasterCard logo on the front

I found Vanilla/ilovemygiftcard/gospendit locally. They all seem to verify paypal. What is the issue with Vanilla?

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

I remember 10 or so years ago you could buy a PayPal visa card in the SPAR .. and open a paypal account with it..

They would confirm a PayPal

Only a bank account can be used to verify a PayPal in the UK :thumb:

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

@Chango - Some do have PIN numbers, others dont.
@Zulkyg - If only it were so cheap and cheerful. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

The two main options for VCCs are
1. Supermarkets, where it costs around £25.
2. Aspkin Marketplace, where you can get it for around £10.

plenty of choice in our local Tesco Extra store, im in the West Midlands.

just_smile 10-21-2016 03:12 AM

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

In my experience all supermarkets stock them. Usually on a big display.

easy.bake.oven 10-21-2016 03:57 AM

Re: VISA gift cards - available where?

Yep, I seen them in the supermarkets in the gift card section.

Man, spending 2 days hunting for these things must have been frustrating.
Maybe easier/cheaper to get one of the sellers on here :)

Oh, I am in London too - its full of idiots!!!! help :)
eg. go into any store/shop and ask them about one of their products and they don't have a clue - no product knowledge of what they are selling - even in pc world.

i bought a gift card from argos today. the company issuing beleive it or not is called epay. the expiry years is 2020 some time but the card has a life for 2 years after I register it. also it mentions a renewal fee of £3 I will call them on monday to get the lowdown. this is for an existing account. the entropay card runs out in january 2017. wen it expires is it necessary for me to add a new card ? the account has all limits lifted ?

Ideally, it looks good to pp if you have a valid card on file.
If you want the account to last it is better to keep the card updated.

To get all limits lifted on uk pp I think you have to add a card, add a bank and send in id docs.

How much for the card, and for activation? Do you need to reg it with actual details?

Thanks.

What is your feedback if so?

They do work in RE to adding them to eBay and PayPal but you cannot get the PayPal code from them so they cannot be used to confirm the PayPal
