International biding & buying restrictions on new ebay accounts?

Hi All

Update: 3 months in and stealth buying account is still OK

A small issue:
I’ve been bidding and BIN from UK sellers for 3 months now with no problems.
Today I tried to bid on an item which is listed on the French ebay site (international). When I entered my maximum bid (under 100 Euros) I kept getting a red error message asking me to add a valid value. Based on this, I was forced to ask a UK mate of mine to place the bid under his account for me, which worked perfectly. (he has a long standing UK ebay account)

Question:
Is there a restriction placed on new ebay buying accounts stopping young UK ebay accounts being able to buy or bid on international ebay sites (French ebay)? If yes, any ideas when this restriction may be lifted?

Cheers
UZ

What were your previous purchase amounts?

Is your paypal fully verified?

On France and Germany they use a "," symbol instead of our decimal point "." for example a bid of 1 euro should be entered 1,00

The same goes for Amazon, sometime I forget and my listing get's flagged as a pricing error, something like 100,000 Euros instead of 100

Hi sax4

This could well be the issue as I was entering my bid as Euro 63.53 using a decimal point.

The error message does seems to point towards a syntax error on my behalf rather than a bid entry restriction warning message.

Next time I bid on a French listing I will remember your reply.

Many thanks sax4 and to everyone else.
