UK eBay & PaypalGeneral discussions about eBay.co.uk Suspensions and Paypal.co.uk limited accounts. This forum is geared towards UK eBay & Paypal sellers.
Have looked on line to register new basic accounts at NatWest, Coop, & HSBC.
I have 3 basic accounts with NatWest + Select & Business accounts, so understood why they wanted more info before opening another, but both Co-Op & HSBC have a stipulation that if you have any other bank accounts they won't open basic accounts for you.
Is this becoming general & is there a way around it?

Just use saving accounts if your having issues opening more basic accounts. They work just as well
I think the current/saving acs require a credit check, so just bear this in mind if you're concerned re your score. Although the basic ones (rarely advertised), do not.
HSBC has savings accounts which cost a mere £1 to open. Theres plenty of options they offer just on savings accounts.
I always recommend everyone to open savings accounts because
a) you cant fund paypal payments using a mismatched bank name anyway - so no different to a current account
and b) each time you open current accounts, your credit score will plummet (for a month or so).
