Royal mail claim enquiry for unsigned for

Hi guys. Are sellers able to claim for lost of regular post (unsigned for) with royalmail?

Please elaborate on the process where possible.

Thanks

Thanks James. These are specifically for items with postage £1.20 to £1.56 and the post office give printed receipt for those. I suppose that is sufficient enough as proof of postage.

You need to fill out a lost claims form from the post office.

Send it off with your proof of postage and all relevant details. They will only compensate you for the cost of the item not the selling price. So you need your original receipt.

Royal mail then write to your buyer asking them to confirm they never received the item. If your buyer ignores this royal mail will send you a letter stating that as the buyer never replied they assume.it has been delivered so won't pay you out.

It's a really long drawn out process and a battle the whole way.

Sometimes you get lucky and they pay out right away without all the hassle. But be prepared for a fight for.your compensation.

Yep its a PITA to do. Personally I rarely bother as its just not worth the aggravation most the time and buyers very rarely reply to the Royal Mail request

They make it so it's not worth doing it.

It's very hard to get money out from royalmail

nearly impossible

They just know how to take money from customer that's all

they make it so you have to chase it, and if the max is around £20, time consuming to get the receipts and screenshots all in jpg to upload....I have no idea if they still write to buyers though....

however the good thing about RM, is they pay for breakages, unlike couriers...
so you can send a bowl or something with fragile sticker and they pay out with photo proof....

Most claims can be completed on the RM website. If you have the proof of posting you should be able to take a picture and upload it as they usually need proof that the item has actually been posted. I make all my claims online now as much easier then messing about getting claim forms from PO.

I have never had a problem with claims. you complete the form (i print one off and it goes to a free post address) send a cert of posting and proof of payment of the postage(paypal payment for postage). I used paypal postage so print that off , send print of of the ebay sale as proof of value and also the paypal payment form the buyer. normal post is usually about 6 weeks. if theres a signed for or foreign it takes longer maybe 60 to 90 days. they have a back log. i get the value of the items and the postage paid back. I have never done one on line but im sure it has a procedure.
