New account - nice trick

Log on to your bank account and open a SAVINGS account. Its done, you have a new account number you can use.

If they ask to confirm, you can order any bank statement you want online to confirm it.

If this is not anything new I will delete the topic.

No need to be obnoxious to someone who is just trying to help.
And youll be amazed at how many people (especially noobs) are not familiar with these simple facts that experienced stealthers take for granted.

Re: New account - nice trick

That means its not a bank account but an internal savings account

Bank accounts all use the same 6 digit sort code 8 digit account number layout

Banks like Nationwide have internal savings accounts though which do not use the above format and cannot be used with PayPal

Re: New account - nice trick

Youre assuming OP is referring to a UK based bank account.
What he says does apply to US based accounts.

In my experience this works great with the royal bank of scotland, one can open 5 savings accounts over time with no problems.

Aye, that is why it is the Royal Bank of Scotland, (and Liverpool!)

That's what I need to know also.
They used to be good but then their sort codes and account numbers when dumb.

Let me know if you know how to fix it and if I ever find a fix I will let you know.

Can anyone comment on this?

I know for a fact Lloyds and Halifax both have proper (unique) account numbers on savings accounts. Can anyone recommend any other banks to use for this purpose?

Controversial idea, but why not use the search engine on the forum? This subject has been covered 17462826 times.

Natwest is another good option. Really easy to open online.

Uaccount - another one recently surfaced on the forums. Since its new, take precaution.
