Can I be linked by sim card?
 

My phone/sim logged into a genuine ebay account.
If I take the sim out and put it in a brand new dongle and connect (3g) to a single stealth ebay/ppal account using a 'prepared' pc, is this OK?
Previous posts suggest the actual sim card cannot be tracked or linked but would I would appreciate advice.

its not the sim card, it is the ip that links you. almost all sims/providers change ip upon each shut-off and they have 1000s of ips that get assigned to users....so each time you log on you get a new ip....test it.

therefore you do not need a new dongle or a new sim, you just need to make sure your ip on that sim is different to ones used previously, which they will be, if it is a regular ISP like EE....

also you can get random ip repeats, or you can get ips that have been used by other banned ebayers, everyone does - so ip is not the biggest deal....getting the same ip 3 months later, is a different scenario from being on a constant fixed ip that links you......

Understood about the ip.

I originally thought about tethering my phone for stealth but the phone regularly connects to my home router so wasn't sure if this was a good idea. Didn't really want to reset the phone etc.

I already had a new dongle laying anyway so thought that would be ok with my original phone sim.

Just disconnect the phone from the WiFi at your house, tether and use the phones IP

Quite a lot of the time a SIM for a phone wont work if you pop it into a dongle. You have to check that both the dongle allows it and so does the SIM network provider.

Just tethering off your phone is much easier solution :)

Use different network like ee o2 both are quite cheap
