List of Apps only digital bank accounts in UK
 

These are the list of some Apps only digital banks, well funded and (with banking licenses ) that have started in the UK. Anyone using them for PayPal yet.

Last time I looked a few weeks ago, most on that list either were not operating yet or in trial/beta mode.

Uaccount.com is working really well at the moment, however does have a max monthly receiving limit of 10k...

I not tried it yet because their bank account feature is not yet functional.

Also, their staff on the about page look like they never been out of the office for 10 years or more!!!! check it!

Guess it won't look dead when you run out of bank accounts to use with PayPal. I have over 45 accounts and growing thus taking advantage of them! All the best...

Goto Uaccount.com and look for yourself - the site is a search engine.

So pls explain how you have a bank account with a search engine?

Potentially stupid question here so apologies in advance: Could I use uaccount for funding ebay/ paypal purchases?

Yes, as the account supports a dd mandate.

The stealth account would need to be in your real name though as Paypal would be able to see the name on the bank account if used as a funding source.

VCC is different than bank john44 - you use bank account to verify and VCC to confirm - 2 different steps on paypal

OK so for a purchasing only account that doesn't require any withdrawals, uaccount alone is all I will need? (in combination with matching name + stealth pricinples).

You have it the wrong way around. If you only want to buy things, then uaccount or any other bank is overkill and just a waste of a bank account that you could put to better use (meaning, add on a PayPal account where you actually need to withdraw).

For buying things, you just need a VCC.

I was hoping to be able to make purchases without paying fees. Am I right in saying that Entropay for example charge 5% for payments?

I will eventually be making quite a lot of fairly expensive purchases in the £100's so these fees will quickly add up.

The large majority of the time it is perfectly fine to make a new purchasing only account with an address that has previously been blacklisted by ebay/paypal. That way you can use a 'genuine' debit card of your choice that is in your own details, as long as the postcode and house number match the purchasing address you are using. If it makes you feel better you can just change the details slightly.....like name variation or even completely different name if you so wish. Name variation is normally good enough though.

Thanks, and presumably this uaccount will work as well as a normal bank account if that's what I choose?

Yes uaccount will work as a normal bank. But banks on stealth accounts should only be used to withdraw.

If you use a bank to buy items, paypal will see the real name on the bank account.

It will be a buying only paypal + ebay with my correct/ real name.

So out of all of these accounts, only uaccount is verified as being able to withdraw when attached to paypal?

Only because most if not all the accounts listed are either still in trial or beta mode, as I said earlier.

If you use it to transfer money to the bank only sure it would be ok

Not yet, bear in mind that it's a Lloyds account that they give you, many people here advise against Lloyds.
