2Checkout Alternative? (Needs to accept PayPal without an account)
 

I apologise if this is not in the correct forum section.

I am looking for a 2checkout alternative.

What I need is a gateway that will accept paypal payments without the need of a paypal account. 2checkout would be perfect but they are not happy to take transactions for the products i sell due to the high media around the items lately.

Is there any alternatives?

There are a few payment gateways which accept Paypal, but all of them require you to have a Paypal account to the best of my knowledge. It's required because any Paypal payments you receive are deposited into your Paypal account, rather than your merchant account/bank account like when you receive a traditional CC payment.

If you find a way to accept Paypal payments on a merchant account without having a linked Paypal account, PLEASE let me know. I would pay you, lol. I seriously doubt it's possible though.

I believe 2checkout.com allows you to do this.

I'm intrigued but I don't understand how it would be possible. I looked into accepting Paypal through several gateways before ending up simply adding a new Paypal to my eBay account.

Paypal acts as a quasi merchant account, accepting global payments and storing them for merchants. Paypal payments can't be sent directly to a bank account or merchant account. So if 2checkout allows you to accept Paypal without linking your Paypal account, where do those Paypal payments go? Does 2checkout have some kind of global Paypal account which they use to process Paypal payments for ALL of their merchants, before forwarding said payments to each merchants respective merchant account? I seriously doubt it, as Paypal wouldn't allow that to happen.

Please elaborate if you don't mind. I'm not interested in learning about your beliefs, lol. :peace:

I'm really not sure. You cant use 2checkout for eBay as eBay don't accept the gateway.

I think.... payments do go to the 2checkout account and then are directed to your merchant account.

Can somebody please clarify this?

Is this for UK paypal?

then you have to accept paypal for ebay UK - and then there would be the option to send it to 2checkout, ccnow etc
(avoid ccnow, see relevant thread) there used to be plimus too years ago...

all the above options are awful! why are you not wanting paypal? paypal is the very easiest one to control, believe it or not, easy with an aged account to withdraw regularly and not get holds or too much stuck in there.....
