Strange Paypal Withdrawal.
 

I've not had this happen before (just when you think you've seen it all)....lol


I made a withdrawal on a new'ish account (first withdrawal) and it gave me the the dreaded 72 hour cooling off time.

I waited the 72 hours and the money didn't show in my bank account so i logged in to my paypal account and the status was "rejected" and there was another transaction as if the bank had transferred the money back in to my paypal account.

If i check the details it says:

"Reversed
Your withdrawal request was refused due to processing issues or rejection by your bank. We have returned the funds to your Paypal account"


I waited a couple of days and then just tried to withdraw a couple of pound just to test it but about 5 minutes later i get the same thing happen.

I've called the bank and they have said there is no reason why the withdrawal should have been refused at their end and that if it had been rejected at their end then they would have a rejection number that's not showing up on their system, so it looks like its paypal that are blocking it.

I'm going to give paypal a call in the morning to see whats going on.

the only reason it rejects straight away and then shows again as a credit in your paypal is because the bank account does not exist or it has been closed, are you sure you havent closed it by mistake? and if it is still open, is is verified on paypal?

The account is still active and its confirmed (still shows the deposits and the code from paypal).

does the reversal happen immediately or over a few days?

The first withdrawal took the full 72 hours before it got reversed but now if i try and withdraw any amount the reversal happens in about 5 minutes (probably straight away but just takes a few minutes to show).

Mis-matched PP / bank account names perhaps?
