UK Banks current and sub accounts.Help

Hi Guys. Ihave a few questions?
1. Which UK banks current accounts and their subaccounts are OK for mismaching names?
2. Which uk banks current accounts are not ok for missmaching names but their sub accounts are OK?
3. When i confirm bank account whit PP is it recomended to accept their direct debit instruction and does by accepting it puts my ebay, pay pal and the bank account itself in any danger of expsing closing or any other unwanted attention?

1 - Nearly all main high-street banks are fine. Lloyds should be avoided though
2 - See above
3 - You can accept it if you want. If its a savings account it will get kicked. Nothing to worry about though, it just means you can only withdraw to the bank account which is all you really want to do anyway!

I don't know why the big deal about Llyods...? I have two accounts with them both have the main account and 5-6 savings accounts in the name of the paypal accs I use. Haven't had any problems.

Halifax I find are good too. Both banks you can just delete the account if you get busted by pp and then reopen another right away.

You may be the exception rather than the rule.

If over the the last 5 or 6 years many members of the forum have had accounts closed due to mismatched names then is it worth the risk? Just because you haven't been caught out yet it doesn't mean you won't.

Saying that, I use LLoyds. However I have a common name, so there is no issue me using my real name on these 'stealths' and attaching a LLoyds to it. As long as you spread the addresses around the country a bit and not keep them in the same town or city, there are still ways to use LLoyds.

Generally with Lloyds its just a matter of time

They work great until they stop working and all the accounts get shut down.

If you get shutdown quicktime at Lloyds get your money out of your Halifax account as well VERY quickly colie72 - unless you like having no access to any funds for at least 2-3 months+

I do not like Halifax at all as it is linked to Lloyds and DOES give issues

Callidus always used to say that too. Another Latin user name by coincidence also. :d

Also a massive coincidence they have both recommended the use of Ulster Bank AND Bank of Scotland in the past.....whilst discouraging using Lloyds and Halifax. A VERY flawed argument as they are the same group, and very bizarre that two forum members could make such a mistake!
