0/£0 Confused

I've just set up the second account, and it also has 0 listing allowance with £0.00. I'm totally confused.

First account I set up as follows:
New IP
New user account on mac
Friend's name
Address was a mis-spelt version of my own with a mis-match postcode
New email account using one of my own domain addresses
New phone number using a PAYG three sim card
New credit card using Entropay
New bank account with Lloyds

I set this account up before I purchased the stealth guide, hence why the mis-match address was used.

The PP account seemed to be set up okay, but I had someone send me a payment 2 weeks ago. I left the money in there and tried to withdraw yesterday, but it still says pending.

Second account as follows:
New IP
Started to create account on my phone, then finished the process using a new user account on mac
Nickname version of my name
Real address and postcode
New Gmail account with images turned off
New phone number using a PAYG three sim card
New credit card using Entropay
New bank account with Lloyds

Still waiting for the credit card verification amounts on PayPal

What do these selling limits imply? Does it mean the account has failed the checks? Could it be Entropay that is the problem?

Re: 0/£0 Confused

You need to use a real address. You cannot make up address or use mismatching addresses as you have found :) The address cannot have been used by you on eBay before

I would use just something like a Hotmail or gmail for the email

Entropay also no longer works for PayPal

Lloyds don't like mismatching names so I would steer clear of them. Most other banks are fine

Re: 0/£0 Confused

"Mickey Mouse" addresses do not work as James has said.

The address needs to exist and the postcode needs to match the address.

Avoid using nicknames as well. It's a bad idea and will cause issues when you are required to submit documents.

So, third time lucky. If I use a Visa gift card from the store and put my real name as per my bank account with Lloyds or a UAccount .would this be okay? I have read that using my real name is okay if everything else is solid, but that scares me for obvious reasons.

The issue will be with PayPal then

If you use your full real name and real DOB your just going to get linked pretty fast

Have you already setup your seller account which is linking eBay to PayPal for selling fees? If so, instead of just ditching the eBay account, speak to eBay support on online chat and they may increase your allowance. I just did this today on an account that had the same issue as you.

Yes. I will give it a shot. I have nothing to lose. Thanks Jigsaw. Will post back.

Re: 0/£0 Confused - SUCCESSFUL OUTCOME

Jigsaw, you are an absolute star. I managed to get 25 items with £750 a month limit. A good enough start for me. She said to run the account well and contact them back in 30 days to have the limit increased. This leads me to think that this is a new thing for new sellers like an initiation. I'll see if I can get the first reinstated now. Could have 2 accounts up and running, so will see.

Just for anyone else looking at this. She asked what I planned to sell and for how much. Delivery or collection items and will I ship within 2 days. I kept things low and simple by saying that I intend to sell items of clothing and books in the £10-£20 mark. Possibly why the limit was low. I'll up it on the next and see how that goes.

Re: 0/£0 Confused

Okay, so 3 accounts now active.

First account I set up as detailed above now has an allowance of 10 items @ £650
Second account has allowance of 25 items @ £750
Third account has allowance of 10 items @ £650

Very random outcomes, but at least they work.

The third account I used a gift card that I purchased from Tesco, the first two were Entropay.

Interestingly, each came back with a 0 allowance which had to be manually increased through the live chat.

Hopefully this info helps someone else.

Re: 0/£0 Confused

Just a quickie update. The £40 that was pending in my PayPal account has just released and is in my bank account. It would appear that I now have 3 working eBay and PayPal accounts and I'm super chuffed. Thanks to this forum and eBay Stealth for helping get this all sorted.

It does still link to an account, and can be used to send money and used with 'some' merchants, as some triggers the PayPal 'Add Card' prompt, but it's intermittent and most likely increases the chance of a limitation by a tenfold. I can say that since using them, which I don't now, limitations have become more frequent, although it could be the recent clampdown on high-risk activity.
