| | What to do after 180 day hold So I have had 4k held ransom by paypal for a 180 day hold that should have been up a few days ago but as yet nothing has changed with my account.
Should it automatically resolve itself or I will I have to call paypal over and over again to get it resolved.
If anyone has recently gone through this process I would love to hear how you got on? |

| wired | 06-05-2017 08:01 AM | Re: What to do after 180 day hold Just call them...but be prepared they may ask for more ID docs, otherwise they may not ever update the release funds.
Ive never had automatic releases after 180 days as they hope you may forget about it, so it lines their pockets.
IVe called up each time and they do the withdrawal for you to your bank on the phone. |

Was then asked to upload id and proof of address and once that was approved (took about 72 hours) they sent an email saying my money could be withdrawn. Whether this is standard practice or not I cannot say. |

They will usually send a automatic response when the 180 days are up allowing withdrawals... if you still don't get the update email ring them however have all details to hand. You can also just upload the same passport/ docs you uploaded previously! You will be just find believe me either way. Personally I've never had to call in and usually get the auto email |
Re: What to do after 180 day hold It's been about 5 days so far, another week or so makes little difference at this point. I'm just worried I won't see my money. 4K is a lot to me.
if they do release the funds, can I withdraw the lot in one go or do I need to do £100 a day or something? |
| wired | 06-05-2017 01:35 PM | Re: What to do after 180 day hold just call them up. Job done. When i first started Stealthing I stupidly ran up over 18grand in two accounts that got limited. Never got the emails, but called up, and withdraw it all there and then.
I learned my lesson well and truly on that one, never leave anything in PP other than to cover a couple of returns or some random chargebacks. |
Re: What to do after 180 day hold So I took the plunge and called them, they now need a bloody birth certificate off me in addition to the passport and drivers licencee.
It never ends! |

It never ends! | Theres the reason why your account got limited then, poor quality docs. Does mean you would of never got it automatically available for withdrawal though, so at least you know.
Tough call, might have to swallow the loss to be honest.
When you told them you didnt have a birth certificate as your mom would of had it and she died years ago, what did they say? |

Maybe this is just a UK thing? | ALL Uk accounts require ID after a certain point due to EU Money Laundering Laws. That ID can also be accepted once but then rejected later on. Welcome to PayPAl UK. |

Maybe this is just a UK thing? | You must be doing the advised practice of 'go slow' and stay under the threshold. US accounts are definitely not immune to ID requirements. |

| moibrahim | 06-18-2017 10:44 PM | Re: What to do after 180 day hold Hello guys,
Literally few weeks ago & I was on a same boat as you lot. I have had my money held for more than 180 days and I have not recieved any responce or anything from paypal. So I have decided to ring them up and 90% of the time they have asked me to upload Proof of ID & Proof of Address. I must have rang them like atleast 10 times through out like various days. Like the 11th time I tried one more again then boom one blessed rep had told me he had sent the account to the specialists and within 24 hours I have recieved an email that I'm eligible for withdrawal. So it's really depends on the rep.
Dont give up guys & just ring them again and again untill yoi find a good rep, who will process it for you without asking docs.
Make sure when you get asked for docs & do not strictly be rude to the staff & simply pretend like you going to upload the docs and hang up. Try that again and again until you get your money back.
Good luck :) |

Good luck :) | Great to hear you got your funds released. However doesn't really make sense as wouldn't Paypal have a record of them asking you to provide docs? Did they never ask you about previous phone calls? |
| moibrahim | 06-20-2017 08:57 PM | Re: What to do after 180 day hold Hello there,
From my personal experience & I dont think paypal keep keep detailed history about the previous calls. Like i said above I was asked for documents every time I called for like 10 times. Everytime I called I had to pretend like its the first time Im calling.
It really depends on the rep but I know the game since I have got my 3 accounts funds released recently. |

It never ends! | Have you provided the birth certificate?
I was asked for ID and utility bill in order to withdraw funds. they then said passport scan could not be accepted. now they want a birth certificate.
Do paypal check stealth passport or driving license ID on some database to see if real or not?
My docs are okay when lifting limits on paypal. |

Curious on how the passport and driving license scans are being rejected. I think the documents are checked on some database to see if genuine or not. |

I think the documents are checked on some database to see if genuine or not. | They have said that a checking software is used to verify the legitimacy of the documents supplied. If it fails that's it they won't accept no matter how legit they look in the eyes of a human... lol |

For starters your flag is USA and these users are from the UK.
The processes are DIFFERENT and more DIFFICULT at times to resolve.

| darren | 06-06-2018 03:47 PM | Re: What to do after 180 day hold Did anyone get any joy using Phake Birth Cert? im sure they can be checked on a database |
| jasonbkk | 06-07-2018 04:50 AM | Re: What to do after 180 day hold Had no joy with sending birth cert. was not accepted by UK paypal scum. I do not know if they can crosscheck to see if real or not like they do with passport/DL
I have been having success withdrawing money after the 180 day holds by phoning USA paypal and explaining the 180 hold is over and I would like to withdraw my money.
You will be connected to limitations department after explaining your problem to the first rep. limitations will have a look at the account then you get the withdrawal email while on the phone and the funds are ready to be withdrawn.
Just had a two year account with 4000 grand in released this way. if you get a rep who makes a problem (only UK paypal can deal with your account), hang up and just call them back and find someone who can help you out.
4 accounts this week have had funds released this way. thinking of donating to the USA paypal Christmas party.
American paypal far far more friendly and helpful than the UK/Irish Paypal call centre scum. |
| james_112233 | 06-07-2018 04:20 PM | Re: What to do after 180 day hold UK are just generally more serious in all aspects. This example will be off topic but I mean look at Shark Tank and Dragons Den ... Shark Tank is a carnival with flashing lights, loud music, insults and comedy. But yet Dragons Den is really serious.
Back on topic. I was dealing with US ebay and they were using slang words in ebay chat and when she called she was so loud I found it quite overwhelming. Americans speak so fast and so much. UK ebay on the other hand, completely different. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 06:54 AM. | |
