Is it the end of the world to clear history & cookies?

Since I have several user accounts operating from the same PC - over a number of years - I'm starting to stack up a lot of internet history files, which is now starting to affect the speed of my computer.

I've also noticed that eBay Scheduled Times, for instance, can go all wobbly if you don't clear the cookies. Just had to switch from Chrome to Firefox in order to have something start at the correct time (it kept changing the start time by itself!).

Is it asking for trouble to give my computer and all the users on it a good clean? Why wold it be a bad thing? When my computer stocks up thousands of old files/cookies/history, I feel I need to take a shower! :pound:

1. How do you know your cookies is making your computer slow?

Cookies doesn't slow down OS as far as I am aware. You might have other issues and, yes, your PC could need a "shower".

I would get CCleaner and manually select the areas to be purged. I would leave cookies intact.

It is not the end of the world to clean them up but be prepared to some kind of security verification for your accounts (text messages or verification call).

Clean your cookie at all times is what I recommend. I have CC cleaner, I have ghosery plus I set my firefox to clean cookie when browser is closed. I do a combination of these manually every single time I am done browsing, I have been doing it for very many years without issue.

People have always said, keep cookie but I believe it is very dangerous.

Your choice though.

Yes. End of the world when you clear your browser cookies.

You can do it but don't make major changes to your account for a few days, especially if you're on a new IP address as well.

yes it is end of world, take it from me.
No matter what i told those monkies on ebay customer support,. they still "believe my account was compromised and kept refunding buyers who opened cases and charging my paypal account" Its a ****ing nightmare.

Do not EVER clear cookies.

COMPLETELY dissagree with all that. It is the worst thing you can ever do is clean your cookies.
