new ebay account restricted on first listing
 

purchased a ebay and PayPal package on 16th november, followed rules, waited to log in, then to login to PayPal, added brand new bank account, verified alls good, waited 3 weeks to list items , listed 2 items, a kids xmas cd and a slimline dvd case, all seemed good, then bang, account restricted, they want me to call to verify my information , once verified they are happy to release the account and i can go on my way... my accounts in the name of a lady.. I'm not a lady !
is this the end of my newly purchased stealth account already ? and £220 up the spout :(

You can do chat with them. They will reinstate your account

sriwaheguru is right - worth a chat shot. Not 100% certain of reinstatement though so that "will" is not necessarily so.

Really?

Think the OP needs to be careful. A Xmas DVD and a slimline case totalling £220. Either of these might have IP issues.


Account is in female name, ID info wanted.

OP is nervous about making the call and you hand out a get out of jail pass.

What if the OP does not have the info for the call

maybe bring this up with who you bought the account from? why aren't they matching us to the right gender? that seems like a problem on their end they should be sympathetic to. im just realizing now how lucky i got, cuz i already needed to call ebay a few times..

You should be fine. Although I'd steer well clear from anything that says CD/DVD in your title/description.

Also it doesn't matter if you wait years to list an item, if your going to then list something that is high value (and therefore brings with it an element of risk for ebay to bear). Start with cheap items less than £5 in value.

Sorry it sounds like the items where £220 they weren’t , thats what I paid to JamesNorth101 , the items i was listing where £1.79 and £3.79, ... I don’t have the sim fir the account so don’t have the ph number used to authenticate it, and I’m not a lady

from my experience..
MC113 ON first listing is normal, don't bat an eyelid.
ring them up on the phone on ur account or make sure they can call you on it if they ask.

if your selling a lot of items and you get MC113 and they request info such as "feedback from buyers" then it gets change to "invoices" DO NOT supply the invoices. This account is dead.

The second you supply invoices, ur account is history.

Walk away with the account "restricted" rather than "perm suspended" and get every buyer notified and told to open cases, which is a ****ing headache.

easy to talk like a women.. ebay wouldn't ever question you with all this transgender bollocks that going about now

What you mean if they ask for invoices walk away isn't this normal practice them asking for invoices ?

Its a fairly standard limitation for new accounts, just use live chat. In most cases they remove the limitation after asking a few questions.

all sorted with live chat, played dumb as you said, and they just ask what you intend to sell, and if you own the items and have photos of them, tell them low value items n yes I own and have photos of actual items and bingo, back on track, no sold 5 items, and have 2 more listed...

this has happened to me.

on a mae account i rung them and they just wanted to confirm what i was selling.

there was no questions about where i acquired the items or to verify my address etc

it seems like they just wanted a phone call from the seller
