Halifax & Bank Of Scotland

Hi there.

I currently have a halifax account with around 4 savers.

my question is if i open a bank of scotland account are the two banks linked? will halifax see the savers i have open with bank of scotland and vice versa? are bank of scotland good for stealth? will i get into any complications (i.e. too many stealths/linked) when opening a bank of scotland account when i already have a halifax account?

just looking for some clarification guys, thanks alot.

The are basically the same bank so I would strongly advise against it.

My mortgage is with Halifax. When I opened an account in the Bank of Scotland I could view that account in my Halifax online banking.

I would treat them as one and the same so stick to 4 across both banks

Was this recent? From my understanding there was an acquisition and RBS is now a part of Natwest, so no long has association with Halifax.

P.S. OP, You have a lot of alternative banks to choose from.
Barclays savers work a treat. I've been using them from the start.

Of course vary it up.

RBS and HBOS (Bank of Scotland) are two different banks. RBS is under the Lloyds banking group (as is Halifax). HBOS is the one thats part of Natwest holdings.

Just to add my own experience.

I have a few Halifax Accounts and one Bank Of Scotland Account. They all appear in the same Online Banking screen.

RBS & Natwest Accounts have their own separate Online Banking Login.

As do Smile and Co-op.

As do Natwest and RBS.

As do Lloyds and TSB.

The discussion is about Bank of Scotland and Halifax. The Royal Bank of Scotland is a totally different bank.

You have this the opposite way around.

HBOS is Lloyds. RBS is NatWest.
