please can someone tell me whats rong with lloyds
 

Hi, ive read many posts that paypal don't like Lloyds, why? ive never had an issue ever with them, and have 10+ accounts and the thing I love about Lloyds is that the paypal 4 digit code is there instantly.
whats the issue with Lloyds then?

It started with not sure how many forumers, could have just been a couple, having problems with llyods and mismatched names, this was at least 8 years ago or more...It is possible the system has changed with llyods...thanks for input, let us know the exact types of account you are using for llyods, better to have a database of info than myths and legends that can become folklore......

The problem is that no one has issues until they do have issues. Then its too late

Any bank can take issue with mismatching names. It very much comes to the individual and their relationship with the bank.

Lloyds is on the "sh1t list" because so many people have reported issues with using their accounts.

The issue also tends to be with personal Lloyds/TSB accounts. I've not heard anyone have an issue where they hold a business account with this bank.

ok, thanks guys.
I have a lot of paypal accounts linked to Lloyds over 3+ years, all linked to savings accounts and all with a random generated name, nothing that looks suspicious for money laundering or anything.
I can see it being an issue if people name on the current account is James smith and a have savings accounts under different names.

The best two things with Lloyds is that you can get that 4 digit code right away to verify the paypal account and you can delete them online yourself withoght having to call customer support like Barclays.

we had lloyds for 2.5 yrs no problem but they did flag it back end of last year because it was under a savings account and not business account so they have told us to open a business account, and gave us 30 day notice,be careful its down to ring fencing

And therein lies the issue. Moving funds through personal or basic accounts makes banks twitchy.


That said going with a bank that has released confidential info to Paypal deserves the boycott.

Shove your myths where they can not be seen. There are certainly changes within this bank. But there is also an element of over-zeal when they go sniffing around your accounts.

Let the boycott stand

i have just upgraded my lloyds account now to business the card etc is in my name but in the bank info when you log on is in my business name with the sort code and account number, now does anyone know if paypal can be added to my bank by the business name which is my partners name as the business.

the bank said we can use either name to set up direct debits etc etc but cheques have to be paid in the business name i dont want to try to add the bank account yet until i get further advice, thanks please advise anyone,

Yes if you add bank account and not showing your business name call PayPal and explain to them they will chnage for you while you on the phone

When registering new accounts, the 4 digits are in the online banking are always there 24 hours later.

Barclays are instant.

Iv got a TSB account with no problem thye have separated from Loyds Hence the feck d up there online system
