Linking eBay and PayPal accounts
 

Can anyone help with this query

I have a PayPal account that I have used for some time.

I would say it is linked to a few closed a suspended eBay accounts.

I have now opened a new eBay account and selling perfectly well on it for a few weeks and no problems, the e-mail address for eBay is what I have on the auctions for PayPal. But I have not linked it to my account.

What I have been doing is sending the buyers an invocie for GOODS from PayPal so the payment is not linked to eBay.

But it is causing a few problems as people are paying through eBay to the e-mail address not linked to PayPal and it is saying "Claim your funds".

I am asking the buyer to cancel the payment and then I send them a new invoice.

What I need to know is if I link the e-mail address to the PayPal account that I have used with previously closed eBay account - will it be linked.

In the past I have sold for months using this PayPal account with a eBay accoutn after another has been suspended with no problems, then as soon as I buy an item the accoutn gets SUSPENDED. From what has happened to me in the past it looks like I have been OK selling and using the PayPal account - it is when I buy something it FIND OUT.. and links addresses etc,

The new eBay account is not in my name so without linking it through buying they won't know, but will they if I link it through selling.

Short answer to the long question of yours is yes.

You said the magic word 'Linked'. A good stealth pracice is to have a brand new paypal account to every new ebay account.

Do they link accounts irrelevant of the activity on the eBay account (buying, selling) or is it when something in particular happens (large volume of sales, a high risk item, and a claim for lost or damaged items)

Or do they have a system that scams accounts 24/7

I have sold on accounts and have been OK (even for a long as 18 months on one) and the account has been fine, but as soon as I buy something that's when it happens and the account (eBay) is suspended, the PayPal account remains OK.

In order to prevent linking of your new accountss. You need to change your ip and run CCleaner before you create your new eBay and Paypal account.


No, the Paypal doesn't have to be in your name. Make the eBay and Paypal info match though.
