£500 stuck in a year old limited paypal - back account closed
 

Evening all,

here is my situation - I have £500 stuck in a old PP account - I had an email a year ago saying they account was limited - I would usually get an email half a year later saying your funds can be withdrawn but I haven't with this account. The main problem is the bank account that was linked to the PP is now shut down - I have just tried to add a fresh BA to the PP but it came up with some BS error like "this cannot be completed at this time"

shall I kiss goodbye to the £500 or is their hope? :smash:

Hi, unfortunately it will probably only work if bank is a highstreet one, or is in the same name of the stealth.

I feel for you bro :( Hope you do some magic method and get it back though.

Try adding via paypal’s Telephone automated system it may allow it to be added.

Give PayPal a call, they'll add the new bank account for you and help you out with the withdrawal, or advise you how to proceed.

The phone call indeed can be productive :) be professional and polite, don't act desperately or frustrated

Contact paypal first of all, be ready they will ask your id and adress proof scans because you didn't received email after 180days.
And what was the limitation reason? Did you received more than 2500£ in a year and disnt send docs for them?

if i;m hones not too sure why it got limited. I was selling lots of digital products so that was probably the main reason. I havnt managed to PS the DL yet. Do you think I should wait it out until then?

Call paypal. That is the best and probably only solution to this. Just a few weeks ago i called as one of mine was same as yours. First he told me i need docs .. i told him that was the whole point i'm limited i don't have docs, he then asked me to receive a text .. told him fine but will have to let me put that sim in my phone as its an old 1. He couldn't be arsed with the messing about and changed something on his side so i could add it without verifcation.

Another account she started asking me CR question. I wasn't expecting it so hung up, called back with CR in front of me and they did ask just added the account straight awat

The only way forward is to call them. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

If they ask questions you cannot answer, 'drop' the phone, hang up and try again later. Take the name of the rep though as you don't want the same one again.

When adding a new bank account does it have to be in the name of the paypal account?

Welcome to the forum - one of the cornerstones of stealth principles is that bank account name does not have to be in the name of the stealth paypal account for deposits to come in...most banks will not cause an issue...
