Newly opened bank l Account Connected to another Paypal account
 

i opened a new bank account and tried to connect to my new PayPal account but PayPal agent said my Lloyds account is connected to another PayPal account and its not possible to link to PayPal account, anybody came across anything like this?

Banks reuse account numbers. It's a small chance but it could be you have a recycled account number than has been used with PayPal before.

Try opening a savings account with it and link that instead.

The agent should have been able to remove the bank from the other account and add it on to yours. That is usually what they do.

You'll encounter this issue more with savings accounts as they are often recycled more regularly.

That agent wasn't very helpful. In future, call again and speak to someone else. Technically the bank is yours at that point and someone else shouldn't have your details on their file. That agent should have removed it from the other PayPal at least.

Thanks Play, you are correct. the second Lloyds bank account i added had the same issue. I spoke to another agent and he fixed the issue.
