soft paypal limitation
 

Hi I received this emal today...

We need more information about you

To comply with regulations, we're required to collect and verify information about our customers. We must do this before you receive €2,500 (or currency equivalent) into your PayPal account (in total) within a year of you receiving your first payment.

I can withdraw money ok out of my paypal

The most important question is that are these soft limitations standard on new paypal email accounts or did I do something wrong?

How long before the soft limitation becomes a hard limitation?

I do have 120 ebay listing ending in 5 days, but the account is in my partner's name whos away with work so it'll take a week to get the docs they require!

How close are you to the threshold of £2500, or has it passed?

I've withdrawn £1100 and thderes about £400 in the account.

That seems pretty standard, that email was always going to come at some point. Nothing to indicate a hard limitation is looming, just keep sales at a consistent rate - untill you have the docs to hand.

hi thanks for the heads up.

What's confusing me though is that I created a stealth account 4 years ago, I used to withdraw £15,000 per month with no requirement of documents ever needed.

Is this a new thing? I remermber all personal accounts get limited eventually, but not business ones.

I did use the other account much more slowly initally, so thats why I was wondering If I used the paypal account too quickly and too many sales, or it's just a standard thing on paypal now.

How old is this PP account?

You'll get a hard limitation at €2,500 and you will not be able to withdraw, send any money or pay for any purchases. Make sure you don't leave any or much money in your account.

I have an account that is in soft limitation and the docs have been sent. Done this last week and am now waiting. I don't expect them to do anything until I hit the receiving limit and get the hard limitation.

You should be ok to wait a week before sending docs.
