The Epidemic of zero feedback bidders

I know this is mostly a sellers forum but - has anyone else being going through this -

zero (0) feedback and almost all of the time new account bidders bidding last minute, ie shill bidding and gazumping the price of an auction item and so i lose as i never go above what i want to pay for an item and then within a very short space of time ebay removing everything about the listing?

This has happened many times in the last year (ie about 3-4 times every month) but at least 6 times to me in the last week and 3 times in the last 2 days and it happens when bidding on phones, tablets or computer or electronic goods.

I have tried to research it and i'm beginning to believe as someone suggested that it's can only be ebay themselves doing it!

What do sellers here think about it?

Any comments?

Re: The Epidemic of zero feedback bidders

I highly doubt it is ebay doing it.
Youre talking about peanuts for them trying to increase the final sale amount. And the fact they lose on multiple sales as a result and have to go to the effort of eliminating the 'evidence' does not make any sense.
Also, if it WAS ebay they would KNOW what YOUR highest bid was and the shill bid THEY were placing would only maximize the amount YOU were going to pay - so the sale would still go through. Or do you think they have people manually entering shill bids? cause that would REALLY be ludicrous.
Sorry your theory doesn't work at all...

Slokors right on this one. If anyone is shill biddings its the seller, not ebay!

I wish ebay would bid up my items. That would be GREAT!
