funds Pending for 21 days
 

Hi all
I sold something on eBay this week, only went for £20 or so.. buyer contacted me saying he was having issues paying.. I assumed he didn’t have enough funds and didn’t worry too much. Today I get an email saying I’d been paid and another email saying eBay had requested that funds from this sale had been put on hold.. Does anyone know reason why this would happen? I sell a bit from account, but not lots. Accounts several years old and not a stealth account.
Also is this a one of or will happen with every sale?

Could have been a shady buyer... Let it play out and don't be too concerned

Why would that make a difference? Money is in my paypal, they’re just holding it

Sounds like it's something they suspect on the buyers side not yours but if you've changed any info on your account such as email address or bank account or if you've changed the way you log in such as IP address, new computer/browser then it could be that too. If it is this then don't sell anything outside of your norm & just ride it out.

This week i sold 5 items on my ebay account and i got this email from ebay ( eBay have requested that funds from this sale had been put on hold ) for all of them, weird coz all other 40 sales ive done on this account have all been instant so not sure whats going on with ebay.:mad:

Also having problems with this, ebay displaying "funds now available" but still in hold on Paypal.

is it a new account? or one that has just been re-used after a gap?

if its a account you rarely use it sounds normal to me , it will just be held for 21 days (well less than that once you mark as dispatched and provide tracking info).

Doesnt matter how old the account is if you dont use it much or even if you do but sell a item for a lot more than you usually do you can get a 21 day hold.

Same issue just happen to me a few hours ago. "Payment from this sale is on eBay hold". Auction is for $260 and it's not the first one for this kind of items. The payment is visible in paypal at "on hold" status.

I've been getting this email quite a bit the last week or so. I think they've tweeked their system somewhat
