Haha as we're all stealthing eBay I'm 100 percent sure that it reaches out beyond this as well. If any regular legitimate jobsworth eBayer see's what we're doing here they'd call us dodgy for sure.

I really just want to know that it can be done so I can sleep easy lol

Lol I get you and I do appreciate the advice because it's sensible and what we should all do. The reason I ask is because I personally know a lot of people e.g vets, shop owners, wholesale suppliers who all dodge tax to some extent. I'm sure we all know someone who does this. I mean these are full on legitimate businesses who get away with it.

My point is though if you ask someone who they think is evading tax.

A) Starbucks
B) eBay Stealther

Most people will point at the eBay Stealther. The real answer is Starbucks though as it seems everyone on here is very straight laced lol

Main reason I stopped doing much stealth. Yeah you can pay tax on all the profits but when you get inspected by HMRC (and you probably will at some point if you plan to run a business your whole life) then you'll probably have to show them you have paypal accounts named as Bill & Ben the flower pot men, Doris Day etc. No thanks, used to stress me right out. Not sure whether they'd care or not but some aspects of stealth are a grey area to say the least lol.

I guess, but I do not know for sure that you can get away with under the tax allowance sums of profit (around 12k ?), anything over that by much is running a risk. I was always of the understanding that if you owed no tax then you couldnt be fined double or go to jail, but it might have been a misunderstanding as none of it is ever officially known. The best way to minimise what goes in your bank and avoid scrutiny is to pay for goods and supplies with paypal and not withdraw the gross amounts but rather just the net.
