Can't Add Another Bank Account To My PayPal
 

My account is fully verified but I seem to be having a big issue adding a new Bank Account .

When trying to add a new bank account I'm getting a error "We're sorry, we couldn't confirm it's you'

I messaged PayPal asking why I could not add my new bank account and they said "We need to verify some information over the phone to get permission from our system to do update on my account.

I rang them and they informed me they would have to run a equifax check on the information presumably on the information on my account.

Now I'm a little puzzled as all I want to do is add a new bank account.

I immediately told him I'll have to ring back as my account is stealth and I can imagine it won't match and my account will become limited.

I don't know what to do now.

Can someone help please ?

When you called up did you not get the automated system that adds a bank for you?

That usually works a treat, and there's no talking to a rep.

That was the first thing I tried . It told me there was a problem so it transferred me to a Customer Rep.

Your account must be flagged for some reason then.

I'd keep trying a few more times. If you have no joy you may need to go with the flow on the phone. If you get limited, then you will need to cross that bridge when you come to it.

One of two things.

Either the account is flagged for some reason, anything odd recently?

Or that bank account is probably on someone else's account. So they're going through additional verification in order to remove it from the other persons account and add it to yours.

You could try and add another bank to isolate the issue, but it depends if its worth burning an account for that.

I've had nothing really bad happen recently with this account a matter of fact they sent me a email the other day telling me they will no longer put any holds on my funds ever.

The bank account I'm trying to add is brand new. I made it the same day. So I'm really confused on why this is happening.

I'll try another bank account but I assume it will tell me the same message.

Sounds like that's you issue. You need to wait a minimum of 24 hours before trying to add a new bank to paypal.

Tried after 24 hours. Still the same issue.

No. But they did ask me to add my Mobile number when I logged into my Paypal account.

But surely it wouldn't be that.

so the systems saying it cant verify you, without even requesting a phone verification? weird.
