ebay/paypal 21 day holds again
 

Up until about 6 weeks ago all of my new ebay and paypal accouns were letting well over 50% of my sales go through without any holds, had been like that for about a year. Now every account I open has 100% payment holds, is anyone else getting this? Has something changed?

It can happen anytime on any account

The trigger tends to be a increase in sales item value or a few recent cases opened up against you

It's just odd that up until 6 weeks ago my newly opened accounts had intermittent holds now any new accounts opened have 100 % holds

Depends, are you selling the same items? some items are more prone to holds.

But as of recent you are right, more transactions are going into hold.

Yeah mostly the same stuff although I did open an account for something completely different very low risk and still got the holds

I've sold on lots of new accounts in that time, all different items, and I've found the exact same thing.

At what point have you started to see the holds dropped? I'm not seeing any pattern atm

I havent noticed any patterns tbh. It's still early days though.

Yes. In 2017 most of my stealth eBay accounts were allowing instant access to funds but as of the last 6-8 months every account has had a hold on it. They let the occasional order slip through instantly but on an overall scale 9/10 transactions are put into pending.

They may have made system changes to make it more regular for new sellers than it was before. If you are selling digital items then you are especially at risk.
