I'm coming across more and more sellers, that's business plan is selling high & buying cheaper at retail prices.

I'm not talking buying something wholesale for £11 and selling for £19.99 delivered making £2-3 after fees and postage.

There are sellers listing items for £45 that a simple google search the exact same item can be bought for £20. £95 selling price, can be bought £50 on amazon.

Obviously sales aren't super fast.... but even 5-6 sales a day with minimum £20 profit a time is great, for very little work.

Is there software available that'll track an items availability and price on amazon and other stores and edit your ebay listing as required (increasing the price, turning quantity to 0 if sold out etc)

If there is it's pretty much a hands off option aside from the initial research and listing. Then upto you how much time you spend increasing your offerings.

Yep, Amazon is even better for that. You can sell a 50 quid item for 300 quid. Lowest price doesn't always sell!

I think there are automated websites which offer such service but it's paid i am sure.

I've seen chaps list hundreds of items on Amazon, at the highest price point.

One the item sells, they simply buy it from the cheapest seller and dropship it to the buyer.

As you've said, unlikely this will sell much, but across hundreds of items, it's not a bad business model. :)

I used to do something really similar with networking cables although with a bit more work than just rebuying and selling!

You can buy 305 meter reels and then the tools to attach the fittings either side. List them like they are a very premium product. Starting at 11m upwards and aim for the unusual lengths you can make very good money so long as your happy to make the cable each time a sale comes in. Major benefit to using this method is you can sell any custom length without having to have a large stock.

People don't always want the cheapest. Its all about how you market the product and how well you can corner a niche. You can easily end up selling something for 2 or 3 times the price of similar products purely down to having an unique length and really hammering home the top end quality of the product. People will always assume more expensive means better when in reality this day and age a lot of the time its much of a muchness
