Subject: Strange UK PayPal Account Limitation - Confirm identity

Body:

Out of the blue and after receiving higher ebay selling limits I have a PayPal account limitation stating that some information is missing. I don't know the extent of the information they want as the first page only requests my address and date of birth.

The interesting thing is my acccount is still fully functional. The only restriction is I am unable to close my account. I can still send and recieve money as well as withdraw to my bank account.

I thought I had better come here for advice before I start answering their questions in case I make a mistake or get "backed into a corner"

It says "Please confirm your identity to avoid any service disruptions" In compliance with the regulatory requirements in your country, we need to confirm your personal and busines identity.

It says

* confirm Identity
* personal details

It also says

Account

* confirm bank account or card (this has a green tick by it to indicate that I have already done this bit)

I hope someone here can advise on this. Shall I just answer their questions and see what happens?

You are being asked to confirm identity in line with EU regulations.

Your account has exceeded £1650 in income so you need to provide photo ID and proof of address. If you ignore the request, the account will have more restrictions placed on it when you hit 2500 euro (or GBP equivalent).

It is coincidental that you got an increase in selling limits at the same time.

The screen you are seeing has been in that format for several years now.

no same happened to my 2 new accounts now ,no limits reached all IDs provided all seems good card confirmed,but i received exact same message they ask to confirm identity ading bank account , they said limitation aplied on my account but the only limitation that i cant close my paypal account apart of that my limits lifted i can pay and receive and withdrow money,but when i try to list first item on ebay it takes to paypal and ask to add card ,even knowing that i have some money in my paypal balance and card was confirmed ( but bank was not confirmed ) i think from now on it can be a new thing . so now i am not able to list anything on my new ebay account they ask to add bank

Hey guys,
I had this same problem on a legit Ltd company..
You need to provide /declare that you are the only board member..
Go you to your account details, update business information and scroll down.
You need To update board members.

This is inline with the new EU requirement of Beneficiary owner.
I called up and that's where they sent me...

The notification is misleading "resolve an issue" and where it takes you - you already have all the green ticks there...

The other issue I had was
Funds have been on hold as I got pulled up for using a virtual address for the registered company.

It was because of this incident I am going stealth.

Funds are released now, as I changed it to a physical address, can be any, and then changed it back.

PP rechecked everything and removed my hold.
3k back in hand now.
