Adding prepaid card to PayPal causing instant limitation

As of yesterday anytime I add a new prepaid card to PayPal the account is automatically being limited. These are on new fresh stealth accounts on fresh portable browser installs/IP addresses.

I’ve never had this problem before and was wondering if any of you guys have experienced the same thing.

This is before the PayPals have even came into contact with eBay, simply just signing up and adding the new card then BOOM - limited.

I’ve tried 2 different VCC providers, one which uses AVS and one that doesn’t and I’m getting the same results.

I’ve attached several screenshots here:

At a guess, neither card you've used is AVS and it is that which is causing the limitation. I opened around 20 accounts yesterday and another 5 this morning using AVS cards. None of them have been limited.

Interesting info though, cheers ;)

Did an error message appear the first time you tried adding it? Then the second attempt it added fine?

What cards did you use?

Revolut & Entropay.

Entropay always causes issues on new accounts straight away nowadays.

It is being shut down anyway....

Yeah it wasn't my first choice I always use Revolut but this happened so I tried Entropay and got the same result

Revolut & Entropay.

Neither of those are AVS.

Use an AVS card and you won't get the issue. The Vanilla MasterCard available in all supermarkets has AVS enabled.

I've had the same on a few accounts. It does sound like an avs issue.

It’s the 2 card issuers that your using. Both are know to cause issues (Entropay being the worst of the 2)

OP, listen to Ebayorbust and pay a little more for proper card purchase.

Yeah I had no problems up until yesterday myself.

I’m gonna try again soon on my MAC and create a domain name and use a custom email see if I have any joy then.

Gonna look into the Vanilla cards aswell.

Don't bet on it. Ban as a result of using entropay is still possible on your accounts.

Better to play safe from the start.

Yep, Morrison’s had then the last time I checked

Re: Adding prepaid card to PayPal causing instant limitation

Just as a follow up, I stated earlier the Revolut card wasn't AVS. This was based on information I was told and not based on first hand experience of using the card. I have since used the Revolut card and confirm that it is AVS. Apologies for any confusion caused.

That’s interesting... I don’t think it used to be AVS

Yep, I think you are right about that. It definitely is now though - both the virtual and the disposable cards have AVS enabled on them. Still not a good choice of card though if it is causing that instant limitation.
