eBay Account Suspended for link to another account
 

I am business seller on eBay, operating on eBay for over 5 years without any issues, I have or had top rated seller account with at-least 97% positive feedback.

Then just recently I got a message from eBay saying my account has been suspended because of a link to another account (they have given the eBay ID for that account) I have no idea whose account that is and have no link to it or that person whatsoever, never even heard of the person.
I have obviously done some research of my own trying to find out who that account holder is and I have found them through google and it seems that person is still trading on eBay with another account, how can they suspend me because of a link to that person/account and still have that person trading on eBay!???

I have over staff employed here all of whom will end up losing their jobs because of this, I don't understand what to do.

I have been in contact with eBay over the phone and they are not willing to help or resolve this at all. they are saying my financial and contact details are similar or linked to that persons account, how can that be when everything is in my name and financial data in my name too, that sounds more like I've been hacked or attempted to.

Please give me some advice guys

Advice is to contact eBay and try to sort it out if indeed you have reason to believe of false linking.

I have already tried all weekend making numerous phone calls and through live chat, it seems I am talking to script reading robots and they don't have an answer for me to resolve this, I have even asked why the linked account got suspended if they hadn't paid there fees, I would be willing to pay from my own pocket to save my business and employees going out of jobs, but still they wouldn't tell me.

so stressed right now, dont know what to do?

Unfortunately its pretty rare for eBay to overturn a decision. If they've 'linked' you its because there's a hard link between those accounts. It sounds harsh but ebay don't care about your business or your staff. The only thing you can do is keep contacting ebay and hope they reinstate the account.

In the mean time I would be getting the stealth guide and reading around the forum. You can be back selling within a week using multiple accounts.

You can contact eBay's Trust and Safety team in the US. Explain the situation, and tell them if there is another account using your details, then to take action against it.

By doing so, this may make leeway to getting your account reinstated if by chance the other person was using your details, or if by coincidence your details are both exactly the same.

The alternative is to read the stealth guide, get a bunch of accounts going. By using one ebay account, you put your business at risk of this happening.

I wouldn't waste time trying to reinstate the old account. They rarely budge on their decision.

here is a theory.... you sold an item mybe 6 month or so ago and had a very upset customer and mybe they lost in a dispute case against you, that customer then was not happy with loosing out and thought of a way to get that money back from you, he/she of them then creates a ebay account using your details taken from your business seller info, builds a bit of trust with ebay over next few months > limits increased > no 21 day holds anymore etc then exit scam.
leaving you to pay ebay fee's and items never sent which will added to the bill.
I'm sure you can find who that will be (check that other user profile, date registered with ebay)
Proving it maybe difficult but that paypal account must have had a VCC or prepaid gift card added

problem he will encounter is debt collectors at his door with his name on it
I'm assuming it's not a stealth account ?
