My ebay and friends paypal account Advice
 

Hello everyone

This is my first post, i used the search but could not quite find anything that matched my questions and would really appreciate some advice .

I have ebay account form 2004 with 230 plus feedback about a year ago paypal started hassling me due to suspicious activity all i did was buy a shower head lol £0 balance on pay pal account
they asked me for bank statement , no problem but also passport number and picture? , no chance so, left it. Account has been stopped can't log in.

Now my best friend has opened an ebay and paypal account lives 10 mins away 2 positive 2 purchases, 4 listings . I use the account.

first question what happens if i link his paypal account with my ebay account as you are forced to have paypal account for all listings now ?

What happens if i change my name and address on my ebay account to his name and address? And then link his pay pal account?

What about if close his account and then change my ebay account details to his ?

Will accounts get linked or baneed etc if try the above?

Lastly can i ask paypal to remove my details from their computer system like my bank account or credit card details?

Basically i want to use my account for high value items, build up his ebay ratings and use his paypal account for sending and receiving payments.

I don't see why i should have to give my passport details and picture to a unregulated body :rant:

oh yeah forgot to ask but i have read comments about pre 2007 accounts being sought after but can't work out for the life of me why ?

well as an unregulated body, you can give them your passport or any made up one you like, they cant check it, you can send them passport and partially obscure some details including pic and they may allow it, cite security worries. If I were you , I would give them what they want..

dont get involved with a friends account and linking etc, they are mismatched details and unlikely to be beneficial for either of you

You cant close your paypal if you are limited, or add remove bank account, you can once you are unlimited though

pre 07 accounts have more trust built up and were made when regulations were less tight.

for high value items, you will always get hassle and limitations from paypal, if this is a pre 07 account, play their game and give them some sort of id, your account will be stronger for high value items than a newer one.
