Anyone sell vape related items on eBay uk? Big big issue...

I’m a vape shop owner and looking for other uk ebay sellers regarding a ridiculous new policy ebay just brought in.

We sell nicotine shots 18mg/ per 10ml. Which is legal and TPD met.


However when listing ebay has now changed a policy saying that you must put in a snippet saying only business customers can purchase nicotine products over 20mg. However when you put this in, the listing is fine and working and is listed but we get customers not able to purchase because they have to be business registered.


So now when people put the word nicotine in the listing they have literally stopped all legal sales to consumers.

Tried explaining it to there customer support who simply just cited a policy which I still pointed out we are selling under the 20mg law/policy. Are they f.........thick?

So our sales nosedived to zero even though all sales are legal.

Now I’m trying to find other sellers who sell vape products?

yes, i am doing it.. ebay tried to stop me from selling vape stuff on my accounts since i started in 2014
but they were never on top of my game :P

I’ve never had any problems selling vape. I have all all the required licenses. They now have banned the word nicotine. If nicotine is in your listing, then only ebay business accounts are allowed to purchase.

Defo no nosedived. I’m in top 3 and all buyers are emailing saying they can’t purchase.

Fellow vape sellers have complained to. Ebay have tried blocking personal accounts to stop buying nicotine 72mg and only make business accounts able to purchase but whilst doing this they have also blocked legal sales of 20mg nicotine shots.

When revising a listing an error pops up saying problem with listing you must put this snippet in your item description.

There are 2 snippets.

One that says on business users can buy over 20mg and one that says consumers can buy under 20mg


However the snippet you put in for consumers doesn’t work and now it only works when untying the business snippet in, which then ebay business can only purchase.


Every listing with the word nic, nicotine, nic shots etc... has to put either the business snippet or consumer. But the consumer one just doesn’t work.

I’ve done a test purchase and I only can purchase with a ebay business account.

Spoke to customer service 22 times and each one has said something completely different.

Have you considered removing the keyword (nicotine) for the meanwhile, just in the hope of getting a few sales?

Sounds like they meant to block something, but ended up banning the whole thing.

Vape stuff has been problematic for at least 5 years.
It's like playing cat and mouse non stop for you to keep doing this.

I'm not in the game, but I'm sure you'll battle this for as long as you sell it.
